To ask how you or your DP proposed?

Missing my DP tonight (I worked all day yesterday, he worked all night, I worked all day today and he's in work until 6am then I'm back at work..) so thought I'd get on with some wedding planning.
Wrote my vows, and began reminiscing about how he proposed.

Can I ask how you/your DP proposed? Cheer me up, tell me allGrin

We went out for dinner. He asked me to marry him. The waitress came and took our plates away before I could say anything. It was quite romantic in its own way Grin

We were on holiday, it was my 30th birthday and I'd been feeling down because I'd been dreading it.

In the evening he said why don't we go on a walk to the beach, we got there, had a little chat. I got up, turned around and when I turned around again he said was one one knee looking the most nervous I'd ever seen him. We then went out to dinner, went back to the hotel room and there was a bottle of champagne in the room and a birthday cake. The hotel staff had also covered the bed in rose petals.

It was Christmas day. I was getting dressed after the kids had opened their presents and he came upstairs and asked me to marry him. Thinking he was joking I laughed it off. He asked again, so I said "there's no ring, otherwise I would" and laughed.
When I came downstairs my eldest was eating haribos and his dad said to him "can I have a ring? Your mum said she will marry me if I give her a ring" and DS1 pulled a ring box out of his packet of haribos.

In the tulip fields next to the garden in Amsterdam. Tulips are my favorite flowers ever and the garden's only open for 2 months/year. I loved itGrin

On the last day of holiday. Before we headed out to breakfast is when he got down on one knee. He was shaking like a leaf he got himself so worked up that he had a sweaty face... thought he was going to pass out tbh!

I got home from work, he had loaded my horse on the trailer and the dogs in the boot. Went to our favourite beach, had a ride on the horse and walked the dogs. He laid a little picnic out on the bonnet of the car, with my most favourite posh non alcoholic drink (I was pregnant at the time!). As the sun set, he started to go down on one knee 🙂 I squealed yes before letting him get all the way down or finish asking 😂

It was Christmas morning and we were exchanging presents, me in my pyjamas and Thumper slippers and him in his boxers. He asked if I wanted a cup of tea, went to make one, then came back with the ring and got down on one knee...still in his boxers! 😂 My mom still can't believe I said yes without him wearing trousers 🙈

We were in bed, had a light chat about general future plans, family etc. Switched off lights to go to sleep. He switched his lamp back on and I started moaning when he produced a ring and proposed! He said he thought it was just the right time after what we'd been discussing. I think he's been sitting on the ring for a while and planned on proposing on our next holiday but couldn't wait!

We were walking through the forest in the snow when he stopped and knelt down... it was like a fairy tale.

We were on a holiday roadtrip and visiting the Grand Canyon, taking in the (stunning) views at sunrise. DH called my name, I turned around and he was on one knee, holding a ring, and he asked me to marry him.

The few other tourists around clapped, it was very sweet.

We had our wedding there 2 years later!

On a long distance train, on holiday. He had hidden a card reading "Will you marry me?" in the book I was reading - when I got to the page I looked up and he had the ring out.

The elderly couple across the aisle from us were delighted and joined us for some champagne.

We went away for a few days to our favourite place in Devon. I had suffered a miscarriage 2 or 3 weeks previously and we wanted some time to process it.

We went to our favourite beach (which we happened to be staying near when I had conceived) and laid a rose on the rocks.

As we walked away DP started into a speech about our future together and I remember thinking...”this sounds a bit proposey....hmmm...nah”.....and then he got down on one knee and produced the most beautiful ring.

Took me to Paris. It was in a beautiful garden and the sun was shining. No down on one knee as that just isn't 'us', just asked me as we were lying side by side in the grass and pulled the most beautiful ring I'd ever seen out of a box in his pocket. It was perfect.

He woke me up at 6am on a Saturday morning and told me to hurry up and get dressed as we were going out. I may have sworn at him.he insisted so i got up and dressed and we headed out. I'd no idea where we were going and i was like WTF when we arrived at the gardens of a local hospice. He told me to shusssh and walked me to the end of the garden where there's an overlook and the views are spectacular. It was just as the sun was coming up and as i turned around he was down one one knee with a ring.

Imma gonna marry that there fella.

I came in from work and he was sat in the living room wearing a suit (he's always in jeans and a t-shirt). I asked why he was wearing a suit, to be honest I assumed he'd had a last minute job interview or something and he got down on one knee and produced a ring. We then went for dinner at our favourite restaurant and he'd told the staff so our desserts came out with 'Congratulations' written on them. It was low key and very sweet.

In Iceland and we were visiting an amazing waterfall and climbed up the side of the mountain to view it from the top. Just the two off us and he said "fuck it" got down on one knee and then asked me to marry him. Turns out he thought he said Fuck it in his head as he was debating to himself whether to do it now or wait for another day/hope northern lights came out. It amused me greatly 😍

During a game of hide and seek on holiday with my then four year old. They hid together and when I found them they were both down on one knee.

My DH and I were childhood friends. ( from age 2). When we were 7 we told our parents that we were getting married. 😂😂. Sounds funny now. We went to separate high schools but were always in touch.and started dating at 15 . I did at lot of gymnastics and after one comp I won a silver medal and he walked up to where I was stood on the podium and got down on one knee. The whole little arena were clapping. He is very shy so it took some guts. We always say he didn’t need to propose as we had already agreed to get married when we were 7. 😂 .

Surprise trip to New York - literally didn't know until we got to airport check in. Very fancy dinner and down on one knee at the top of the rockafella centre.

Honestly it was like something out of a film. Wish we could do it all over again ❤️
