Just heard on R2 it's 20 years today since the cult British series Spaced was first aired. I remember watching it in my first year of university

A big thank you to Jessica Hynes and Simon Pegg - you were the first writers to really sum up my generation and make me rofl whilst doing so. Grin

Oh I so loved Spaced.

Oysterbabe · 24/09/2019 07:16

Ah I'll have to watch it. Love Spaced.

DappledThings · 24/09/2019 07:36

I quote Spaced at least once a week.

I live near Jessica Hynes. I've only seen her in town twice but pretty sure it's only a matter of time before we're best friends!

Toastymash · 24/09/2019 07:37

Excellent show. Really underrated

Saucery · 24/09/2019 07:40

Michael Smiley can’t be in anything without us shouting “Tyres!” and doing a hectic little impression of him.

Nousernameforme · 24/09/2019 07:40

I noticed it was on prime last night im going to introduce oldest ds to it. It is his sense of humour.

Saucery · 24/09/2019 07:41

Colin the miniature schnauzer (actually Ada in rl) very, very nearly led to us getting that breed as our first dog.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 24/09/2019 07:45

Wow really?
I loved Spaced. It was on right after Black Books which was also brilliant.
Sigh.

AnneTwacky · 24/09/2019 08:31

I loved Spaced. Might have to dig the dvds out.

Jennifer2r · 24/09/2019 08:33

Gosh I feel old

RuffleCrow · 24/09/2019 15:57

Me too @dappledthings - lucky you getting to make her your new bff. can you ask her round to dinner and get to do her Jamie Oliver chopping spuds? "Some people mash 'em, some people fry 'em. Me... I just chop 'em in half." I literally can't prepare potatoes without that line popping into my head. Grin

That’s made me feel old and I was still in school when it was on.

Don’t forget to wash your sheets...and your penis!

Thetiss · 24/09/2019 16:00

I re watched it all recently, it’s brilliant

RuffleCrow · 24/09/2019 16:00

I love those dogs @Saucery but i can't get past Brian's "Such. Vibrant. Colours." Shock

I used to watch Black Books then Spaced in my scary attic on an old black and white TV cos my family hated both! I was 15. Wonderful series. I still cry when I watch the final episode even though I know it backwards. I have instant attraction to any man who can complete a Spaced quote.

RuffleCrow · 24/09/2019 16:33

@BanKittenHeels love/hate Twist. - She's either sweet and slightly stupid or an evil genius.

Agree with her on the penis washing though.

I make my greyhound dance with me around the kitchen while I shout 'Dance with me Colin, dance!' at her while she looks mournful.

Bought DS into the fold - he loves both Spaced and Black Books ...

"Jabba - that's the princess, right?" Grin

TomHagenMakesMyBosomTremble · 24/09/2019 16:42

Ooh I love Spaced. Mike's A Tean dance is my very favourite. I absolutely love that episode!

Fluffiest · 24/09/2019 16:44

Hello Brian!

Oh I love Spaced. In the very early days of meeting DH we once spent a weekend binge watching the series. When I saw he loved it as much as I did, I knew I'd found my geeky soul mate.

Our favourite quote is saying "what you doing?" in a high squeaky voice.

RunningOutOfCharacte · 24/09/2019 16:49

Oh Brian.

I worked with mark heap a lot many years later. And every single time I saw him I just wanted to say hello Brian...

He is lovely in real life. It did not help my Brian crush...

AskMeHow · 24/09/2019 16:53

I've found my people!

I've not watched it in a while. Me and DH quote lines from it at each other all the time Blush

FutureDays · 24/09/2019 16:55

Amazing love spaced, black books also, any green wing fans? Mark heap is awesome

DisplayPurposesOnly · 24/09/2019 17:11

screams, slams door, stamps downstairs, slams front door
