Just heard on R2 it's 20 years today since the cult British series Spaced was first aired. I remember watching it in my first year of university

A big thank you to Jessica Hynes and Simon Pegg - you were the first writers to really sum up my generation and make me rofl whilst doing so. Grin

Oh I loved Spaced. Glad to hear it's on Prime. My dcs already love Black Books, IT Crowd, Father Ted..... I feel a binge watch coming on.

Every now and again I dry my top teeth and tuck my top lip under just as a little homage to them. Loved Spaced.

Colin the miniature schnauzer (actually Ada in rl) very, very nearly led to us getting that breed as our first dog.

We actually did get a miniature schnauzer. And called him Colin. And I hold his front paws and say "dance for me Colin" Grin

I absolutely love the whole thing. Whenever I rewatch it, I get another reference that I'd missed, so clever!

'oh I shouldn't but go on then, I'll have a half'
'it's a mint'
'yeah, I know, I'll have half... A mint'

What sort of age could I show this to my DSD? She's 14 and would love it!

zebrasdontwearbras · 25/09/2019 10:15

Eats my ds14 watched it.

Loads of Star Wars and other film references - the Star Wars once he def got, but probably not Pulp Fiction Wink But it's funny even so, I think.

I grew up being taken to see Star Wars at the cinema, and totally get Tim's Jar Jar Binks hatred Grin

Also love

zebrasdontwearbras · 25/09/2019 10:16

And there's always this film reference cheat sheet Wink

Years ago there was a flash mob in Trafalgar Square re enacting the slow mo gun scene. Was most excellent!!

EndoplasmicReticulum · 25/09/2019 10:27

Husband and I just rewatched the whole lot. We used to live in a shared house that was almost identical to the squat Daisy lives in at the beginning.

Love this show so very much. 'Skip to the end' is one of my most used phrases, my kids now use it too!
