Just heard on R2 it's 20 years today since the cult British series Spaced was first aired. I remember watching it in my first year of university

A big thank you to Jessica Hynes and Simon Pegg - you were the first writers to really sum up my generation and make me rofl whilst doing so. Grin

Agree Mark Heap is awesome. He must get some kind of award for just continually cropping up in stuff and stealing the show in a very awkward way - Friday Night Dinner is another case in point.

I was an extra is Spaced series 2, I can’t believe how long ago it was! Loved Spaced so much. Still quote it often!

Me and OH tell each other to "Skip to the end..." regularly during conversations, and we can't get jaffa cakes out of the cupboard without saying, "FOOKING JAFFA CAAAAKES!!!!!"

Love love love spaced. Whenever my housemates and I had had a heavy night and were feeling sorry for ourselves the next day, we'd put it on. Specifically the episode where they all go to the club.

I'd say I quote it daily - just with my husband otherwise that would become annoying very quickly.

House favourites:
"Sod Colin!"
"...a case of rolling right Inuit..."
"I'll just have a half" ( said about a biscuit, piece of cake, stock cube etc)
"I didn't have to"
"It's not finished... it's finished."
"Some like to slice it... some like to dice it".
"It's up and downs"

Haha @Thatnameistaken how could I forget "skip to the end"! I remember saying it without thinking to someone and as they weren't a spaced fan they thought I was just being breathtakingly rude

And omg - 20 years Shock Of course it's been that long... my ds1 is 17 now, and dh and I used to watch it when we were still like Tim & Daisy Grin in the heady days before dc and parental responsibility

Still regularly watch it - have the dvds and it's on Amazon Prime at the moment. Made the teen DSs watch it recently too Grin

Fried gold! If you've got the DVDs but not watched it with directors commentary then I highly recommend it. I wish they'd do a spaced +20 (like they did with this life+10), I'd love to know what Daisy and Tim (and everyone else) would be up to these days.

Anyone else notice that Tino the artistic mouse in hey duggee is quite obviously based on a mix between Brian and Brians ex boyfriend played by David Walliams.
