To think iPhones are no longer innovative?

It seems like every "new" iPhone is just the same as the last, never really does anything new or different Confused

Is it just me who thinks this?

The camera is always a let down compared to my friends new phones. I suppose i stick with them because they are very basic.

GabbyChalice400 · 13/09/2019 21:19

@EachandEveryone Yes, that is exactly why I've stuck with my old one and haven't upgraded. It's not worth it in my opinion!

They are very basic in comparison to Androids.

I'm on 6 so....yeah not that much difference between that and whatever number we are on now.

GabbyChalice400 · 13/09/2019 21:28

@LifeImplosionImminent 11!

They skipped 9 didn’t they? My dh has an 8 and I have an x (which I thought was ‘x’ for ages, not ‘10’) and my camera is noticeably better - but that’s it really. Are the cameras better on android??? That’s the main reason I bother to upgrade.

00100001 · 13/09/2019 21:34

Well... What else do you think they can make phones do nowadays?

LightsInOtherPeoplesHouses · 13/09/2019 21:37

They've not been innovative for ages.

BouleBaker · 13/09/2019 21:44

Nope, not innovative at all. Looked at the new one. A better camera. Well whoop do doo. Not even 5G compatible.

notso · 13/09/2019 21:52

Are any new phones innovative now?

JoyceJeffries · 13/09/2019 21:57

I went from a 6 to an 8 an I genuinely couldn’t tell the difference. I don’t get the hype with any phone.

GabbyChalice400 · 13/09/2019 21:59

It does seem like anything that is new on the iPhone is just another thing that Samsung/Huawei have already done

dowehaveastalker · 13/09/2019 22:00

ill get the new one coming out - i currently have the X but want a better camera.

Figgygal · 13/09/2019 22:02

Agreed will never have another one after this one's contract is up

SerenDippitty · 13/09/2019 22:07

I've got a Google Pixel 3a XL and bloody love it, brilliant camera.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 13/09/2019 22:09

I don’t think new releases phones are less innovative now- but rather they are so expensive now that all the little tweaks that we all used to jump for and upgrade yearly aren’t worth it anymore. 2 year contracts, £50+ a month= no thanks!

Onefootforwards · 13/09/2019 22:12

I used to always get the new one but I’m still on a 7 plus now and will keep it till it stops working.

I think they’ve run out of new things to make them do. Half the stuff they’ve added no one even uses anyway I’m sure, it’s gimmicky.

BarrenFieldofFucks · 13/09/2019 22:13

I wouldn't make the switch over from Android, there's nothing that justifies the prices tbh

FiveGoMadInDorset · 13/09/2019 22:14

I have just moved from iPhone to Huwawei Pro as I needed a really good camera. The difference is staggering and cheaper, it’s a pain as i have lost the take a photo and it appears in my iPad so I can do social media but can upload anyway so it’s a small prove to pay

crazypeppermint · 13/09/2019 22:16

I can't see much of a difference in anything past the iPhone 6. I think they're very user friendly but they haven't been innovative for years in my opinion.

SmileyGiraffe · 13/09/2019 22:18

I used to sell phones and even back in 2012 there was nothing innovative about them.

They have great battery life and everything integrates well, but they're the only positives I have for them.

EustaciaPieface · 13/09/2019 22:22

I like the look of the new one, the 11 pro I think. I still like their products,
love my watch, iPad etc.

CTRL · 13/09/2019 22:26

I agree.

I only stick with iPhones because I’ve spent so much buying apps and iTunes and using the iCloud - I feel it would be a waste to stop using them.

From iPhone 5 I feel like they went downhill honestly. I feel like they keep bringing the same phone out and calling it ‘X’ or ‘5c’ and expecting people to be woo’d, but most people I know don’t care anymore.

Nat6999 · 13/09/2019 22:51

I looked at iPhones in a shop recently & compared to my Samsung they felt very old fashioned & slow, this was a top of the range iPhone when I have a Samsung S10+.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 13/09/2019 22:58

I love my 7plus, I’ve had it two years but I don’t think I need to upgrade it, I just don’t think that an extra bit of whizzy technology is worth the price tag. It already does tons of useful stuff. I’m not locking myself into a £1200 debt just for a few new apps on my phone. It’s ridiculous.
