Been reading about the new iPhone and seen it's triggered trypophobia in some due to the cameras on the back. And in light of IT Chapter 2 coming out a few days ago I rediscovered my fear of clowns.

What bizarre things terrify you?

Nothing

Hannah021 · 11/09/2019 17:00

a stairs without a rail makes me sweat my * off...

LittleSweet · 11/09/2019 17:00

Daddy long legs. I scream with my mouth shut incase they fly in. It's their floppy long legs, that bounce when they fly. Typing that made me shudder. I also am terrified of clowns. Also those China faced dolls, which I was scared of before the film Annabelle. I think they are haunted.

FudgeBrownie2019 · 11/09/2019 17:02

Ballons. All of them. They are the toys of the very devil and should be banned from the world.

Our neighbour (who I love, but who is also an entire bag of shit) once tied a huge amount of balloons to my front door handle overnight so when I left to go to work my whole porch was filled with balloons. I phoned DH and cried til I was rescued by the DC.

I'm always terrified the car park barrier is going to come down and smash my car/ head. I'm 60 now and it hasn't happened yet Grin but that doesn't mean it never will!

proseccoaficionado · 11/09/2019 17:28

Clowns.

LeilaDarling · 11/09/2019 20:53

Snake coming up the sewer into my toilet whilst sitting on it.

PositiveVibez · 11/09/2019 20:55

Everything with wings. From butterflies, right up to aeroplanes and everything in between.

MellowBird85 · 11/09/2019 20:56

Motorways. They’re death traps

lazylinguist · 11/09/2019 21:00

Spiders. That's a bit of a boring one, as so many people are scared of them!

EveningLight · 11/09/2019 21:01

mellowbird yours seems quite rational!

Mine is lions. would be rational if I lived in Africa or somewhere but they literally hit such a nerve. I try watching videos of them to see if it can get used to them but it makes me sweat and panic

Deadringer · 11/09/2019 21:02

My biggest fear is the ceiling coming down on me. I hate hearing anyone walking around above my head, I worry that they are going to land on my head.

TowerRavenSeven · 11/09/2019 21:02

Aliens taking me to their ship to perform “medical” experiments. As I know this cannot really happen, it’s my irrational fear. Being buried alive as well.

HumphreyCobblers · 11/09/2019 21:03

I am terrified of the dark. Not of 'the dark' as it were, the things that might be lurking in it, but of being in total darkness. It sets off my claustrophobia and I instantly start trying to escape. It is not rational in any way.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 11/09/2019 21:05

The chance that I (or my car) could spontaneously leap off a bridge if I have to stop on it. If I keep moving I'm ok.

Igetknockeddownbutgetupagain · 11/09/2019 21:05

My Mum once said she imagined someone asking her to count all the grains of sand on a beach and it made her feel sick with fear. It hadn’t actually happened. She just imagined it.
She really is batshit, my mother.

Drogosnextwife · 11/09/2019 21:06

Worms maggots and slugs. Sometimes I'm not too bad and other times I can't even look at them, can't walk on the grass without shoes incase there on there and I can't see them. Then 2 weeks ago I was digging up soil to plant bushes and found quite a few big ones and just ignored them. I'm not sure why I have more of a fear sometimes.

CactusAndCacti · 11/09/2019 21:06

I fear that too - always give a sigh of relief when I am through - but how does it know I am?

My other one is that with level crossings - either a train will still come when the barriers are up or I will break down in the middle. When the dc were very small I had a detailed escape plan.(I still have a plan, but everyone is old enough to get out by themselves without assistance)

WhiteWineAndMagnums · 11/09/2019 21:07

Houses (or other buildings) with more than one set of stairs. Similarly, stairs that go straight up/down into rooms without a hallway/landing.

ShinyMe · 11/09/2019 21:07

I'm scared of being swallowed alive feet first by a giant python.

Mumtotwo82 · 11/09/2019 21:08

Moths and there fat hairy bodies. I think it started from when I was little and went camping and used the campsite toilets the moths were all over the lights and would fly in your face. Butterflies i have no problem with. Confused

Muffinbutton · 11/09/2019 21:10

I'm scared of coral. Luckily it doesn't give me any day to day concerns!

TrendyNorthLondonTeen · 11/09/2019 21:11

Being buried alive or being trapped somewhere unable to get out and just having to wait to die.

Probably not that irrational when you think about it!

sweetsaltypopcorn · 11/09/2019 21:12

Frogs and toads. Can't even look at pictures of them.

monty09 · 11/09/2019 21:14

Spiders of course but also heights, really struggle to walk over a bridge or go on escalators 🙈
