Been reading about the new iPhone and seen it's triggered trypophobia in some due to the cameras on the back. And in light of IT Chapter 2 coming out a few days ago I rediscovered my fear of clowns.

What bizarre things terrify you?

Cows. I don’t like that they’re bigger than me and can’t look at me face on.
Spiders.
Pigeons.

Shouldcolder · 11/09/2019 21:15

Driving over bridges shits me up proper.

namechanger0064 · 11/09/2019 21:16

Flying. Worse when I'm with my kids and I fear I couldn't protect them if the worst should happen 😔

Catworrier · 11/09/2019 21:17

Baked beans

lumpy76 · 11/09/2019 21:18

House fire at night, flying. Flying is so bad I haven't flown for 11years. Especially irrational as I grew up with a DF who worked in the aerospace industry and taught me all about planes and because I used to love flying. I'm pretty sure that 9/11 happening within 3 months of having my first child has a part to pay in my phobia.

Heights

Hair in the bath- you know if you move your hand or leg and a stray hair attaches itself to you- makes me horrible and sick

drogon1 · 11/09/2019 21:20

Church steeples. Anyone who has seen the Chesterfield spire should understand.

CactusAndCacti · 11/09/2019 21:23

I love Chesterfield Spire. Blush but I can understand why it gives people the heebies. I think it was because we used to regularly go by train to Sheffield to see family so that was always something we looked out for as we knew we were getting close.

JontyDoggle37 · 11/09/2019 21:25

That my son will stop breathing and die. I worrry about it probably once a day, every day since he was born 4 years ago. Life feels so fragile.

Motorways. They’re death traps

I learnt at a naughty drivers course that you're least likely to have an accident on a motorway but if you are it's more likely to be serious.

Most likely : country roads

ShinyMe · 11/09/2019 21:28

I see the Chesterfield spire every day, and I love it! It's not actually attached to the church tower - apparently the right wind (or a large crane) could just lift it all off in one piece. It's just a giant hat balanced on top of a tower.

nononever · 11/09/2019 21:28

Dark water. It terrifies me, I have no idea why. We once stayed in a water villa on holiday and I could not go out on the deck at night on my own even for a minute but was okay if my husband was there. I love the ocean, a lot of our holidays are based on water activities, just don't ask me to go near it in the dark.

aspoonfulofyourownmedicine · 11/09/2019 21:29

Clowns, fire, snakes and deep water. I can't walk by a river or lake without having a panic attack, and ferries are an absolute no go.

MochynBudr · 11/09/2019 21:31

Being stranded in the middle of the ocean.
Being stalked.
Having any part of me sticking out of the bed.
Something grabbing my feet from underneath my bed.
The dark.
My reflection not moving when I do.

upups · 11/09/2019 21:31

I'm always scared a wasp will be in the toilet and it stings my bits when I'm peeing! I have a lot of more normal fears too

userxx · 11/09/2019 21:31

Frogs. I can deal with most things but not those fuckers.

Butteredtoast55 · 11/09/2019 21:33

Where to start? Large ships, definitely with nononever on dark water, frogs, snakes, seeing a face in the mirror behind me and inadvertently inviting a vampire over the threshold of my house 😂

Tiptopj · 11/09/2019 21:33

My irrational fear is Zombies. My rational brain tell me not to be so stupid but my fear tells what if...

firsttimegoing · 11/09/2019 21:35

I’m scared of so many things but empty swimming pools freak me out

MochynBudr · 11/09/2019 21:36

seeing a face in the mirror behind me

This! Shit can't look in a mirror now! Creeped me out too much BlushSad

Had to google the chesterfield spire and agree it’s a bit spooky!

I’m mildly spooked by lots of things - some of which have been mentioned. A big one for me is helicopters (fine with planes) they are like big, horrible insects and just constantly look like they’re going to crash.
