Toddler DS has just been admitted as an trauma emergency- whereabouts can DH park as following in car, not from London!!

depends on how long you'll be there for + what your budget is.

parkopedia is pretty good.

in short there are lots of free on-street spaces at nights & on sundays, at any other time it's difficult & expensive to park.

Robs20 · 30/08/2019 15:17

You may get a special car park rate - ask the nurse in charge. We did at Lewisham/ St Thomas’ when our dd was admitted to the paeds ward (£5 per day). Once you know how long he will be in for I strongly suggest you use street parking further out and use public transport if he will be in for a while.

Waffles80 · 30/08/2019 15:18

Would he be better off parking elsewhere and getting the tube into Central London?

VladmirsPoutine · 30/08/2019 15:18

I don't have any parking advice but I hope to heaven all is going to be well with your DS!

Brexitstash · 30/08/2019 15:20

There isn't any. You might have luck at the ncp at oxford circus, but very expensive.

Reallybadidea · 30/08/2019 15:20

If you're not from London I think driving in at this time on a Friday will be a nightmare. Parking at a tube station on the outskirts sounds very sensible I think.

Brexitstash · 30/08/2019 15:20

Posted too early, I hope your son is ok Flowers

rattusrattus20 · 30/08/2019 15:21

some ideas here, pretty grim.

MatildaTheCat · 30/08/2019 15:22

this might be helpful.

Don’t forget he will also need to pay the congestion charge.

If possible get someone to collect the car and use Uber or public transport as soon as you can.

Hope your son is recovering soon.

itssquidstella · 30/08/2019 15:22

If he's coming from the M1 then could park for free at Highgate tube and then tube in?

CmdrCressidaDuck · 30/08/2019 15:22

Honestly I agree with PP, I think it will be quicker, cheaper and less stressful to park in an outer zone and take the tube in. UCLH is very central and not a good place to drive to.

Hope all is OK.

youarenotkiddingme · 30/08/2019 15:23

Agree with using public transport. My mum goes there and catches a coach (south coast)

Even in an emergency I think he'd spend more time searching for space than parking and using tube.

Hope ds is ok Thanks

Brexitstash · 30/08/2019 15:23

If you are driving to the outskirts it's possible to find street parking round the central line stations in Essex then head to Tottenham court road

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 30/08/2019 15:24

Anything south of the A40 apart from UCH itself is in the congestion charge zone. Check on Parkopaedia north of the a40 eg around Euston Station.

AccioCats · 30/08/2019 15:24

Tube for now. Then look at above options if your ds is going to be in for some time and your dh can get the car.

How stressful for you; I do hope your ds will be ok

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 30/08/2019 15:25

Where are you coming from

InterestingView · 30/08/2019 15:26

Just park in the hospital car park for now for today then explore cheaper options later. The priority is just getting to your son regardless of cost right now - that can be covered later. Good luck OP I hope hes ok.

InterestingView · 30/08/2019 15:28

What an idiot sorry OP theres no parking at that hospital!! Ignore me!! I thought maybe it was a cost issue but didnt clock on the hospital name.

User12879923378 · 30/08/2019 15:28

You might be able to park on the street in Russell Square or somewhere near the Brunswick Centre.

InterestingView · 30/08/2019 15:29

Just park is good

Oh I did post a photo but it's not showing

HerculesMulligan · 30/08/2019 15:29

It's not cheap but you can park in the basement of Euston Station or in the Brunswick Centre in Bloomsbury (bottom end of Judd St, near Russell Sq).

AccioCats · 30/08/2019 15:30

I’m not sure there is any actual hospital car parking other than for disabled drivers.

namechanger0064 · 30/08/2019 15:32

There definitely isn't hospital parking at UCL. There is pay and display on nearby roads but i think it's a max of 2 hours (but you can park for free after 6.30pm). Echo everyone else's reco ie take the tube in - it will just be one thing off your mind.

ThelmaDinkley · 30/08/2019 15:35

Can’t help with the parking but fingers crossed for your little one. Flowers
