Don't forget the ulez charge, depending what car you have. That's 24hrs a day isn't it?

iateallthecheesecake · 30/08/2019 18:26

Another vote for the brunswick Centre nr Russell Square for all day reasonable parking. Then walk to uclh. Or, you can park for a longtime at hilton London metropole at Edgware Road which is a v quick tube or bus to the hospital (think it was £5 a day last time i did it)...

Also get in touch with pals and uclh charity, they often have accommodation and reduced rate parking for parents of Little ones in partnership with great Ormond Street in Russell Square.

Hope your DS makes a speedy recovery Flowers

Apologies missed the update! Glad he's on the mend :)

Queenie8 · 30/08/2019 18:37

I'm glad you got to park, and dc is OK please dond forget to pay the congestion charge. You have until midnight tomorrow to pay it. Your DH may be better to move the car before midnight tonight as you'll need to pay tomorrows congestion charge too. To get to UCLH from Stoke Newington is relatively easy, take the train to Liverpool Street and get the underground to Euston Square (circle/District/metropolitan line) and walk across to the hospital.

holsfinis · 30/08/2019 20:31

@Queenie8 I don't think he actually went into the congestion zone , I did take a look at the map. If anything happens , I can prove a medical emergency with the discharge stuff.

Not the point of thread but ..... an ambulance refused to take a young child who's now in critical care Shock

Massive shout out to that policeman and his wife.

Deelish75 · 30/08/2019 20:50

Glad your DC is getting the care he needs but what’s this about an ambulance refusing to take him to a trauma unit?

holsfinis · 30/08/2019 21:30

I know! We were shocked but decided to just take action and get there via car , come what may.

plunkplunkfizz · 30/08/2019 21:37

Yes, Brunswick Centre is a good car park and only 10/15 minutes away.

flyingspaghettimonster · 30/08/2019 22:45

Glad he will be ok and you figured something out. Shocking about the ambulance though!

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 30/08/2019 22:49

When things have settled down I would raise this with London Ambulance.

GiveMeAllTheGin8 · 30/08/2019 22:49

Why wouldn’t the ambulance take him? That’s shocking.
Hope your ds makes a speedy recovery

needmorespace · 30/08/2019 22:50

why not go to the homerton? much nearer and easier to park

Evilmorty · 30/08/2019 22:52

Marlybone road is the border down congestion, if he stayed on the Euston side, he won’t have to pay it x

Evilmorty · 30/08/2019 22:52

Border for congestion

MisterT373 · 30/08/2019 23:45

Royal National Hotel on Bloomsbury Way has a car park and has a daily rate. It's just north of Russell Square.

Schuyler · 31/08/2019 09:41

That’s shocking the ambulance wouldn’t take him. :( poor little one.
