Toddler DS has just been admitted as an trauma emergency- whereabouts can DH park as following in car, not from London!!

Parking around there is abysmal. He might find a car park for £40 and remind him about the congestion charge. I would agree the tube is the best option, if possible.

Hope the little one is ok. Flowers

BlueCowWonders · 30/08/2019 15:45

Regent’s Park- not a long walk if you’re able to.
I used to walk it in less than 15 mins
Good luck.

PutTheBassInYourWalk · 30/08/2019 15:49

One of these - www.ccparking.co.uk/. All pricey but I would park now and worry about it later in these circumstances!

Wishing your toddler well!

Sportsnight · 30/08/2019 15:51

Regent’s Park is a sensible choice. He can get a bus along Euston Road from there. It’s probably about a mile to walk. There’s an NCP car park or similar in Bloomsbury Square Garden which is a shorter walk but will be £££.

LondonerRandomName · 30/08/2019 15:53

Park on North Gower Street on the other side of the street from UCL. You then just walk through Euston Tube Station to the hospital - you can avoid the congestion charge but you still have to pay

Hope all goes well x

PooWillyBumBum · 30/08/2019 15:56

IIRC there’s actually a fair bit of available street parking near there that’s free in evenings

LakieLady · 30/08/2019 15:56

If getting a bus, remind him that London buses don't take cash!

Really hope your little chap is ok. Flowers

PooWillyBumBum · 30/08/2019 15:57

Whoops posted too soon - on Taviton Street and surrounding streets if you drive round a bit. Will need to move tomorrow but free Sundays too. I used to live on taviton street when I went to UCL and we would drive car up and aim for evenings because of parking. May have changed since 2013 though!

PooWillyBumBum · 30/08/2019 15:59

Taviton street free after 6.30 (and usually plenty of space - I still walk by often in evenings) but extortionate before. If that’s way too late I agree getting tube in as better option.

We did this at a hospital had to park in an emergency and car didn't move for a week. The ward gave us a note to get out at £5 a day.

changedtempforprivacy · 30/08/2019 16:23

It's really hard to park round there and traffic terrible Parking on outskirts and tube in is definitely going to be quicker. Post what direction be is coming from and we can suggest parking.
Hope your son is ok, he couldn't be in better hands - my experience of UCH has been they are excellent

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 30/08/2019 16:25

Hope your DS is ok. You could ring the hospital for advice given the circumstances. They may have an arrangement for trauma cases.

LondonerRandomName · 30/08/2019 16:27

Sorry my post should say Euston Square Tube Station not Euston Tube Station. They are different (very close but different)

Rosere · 30/08/2019 16:36

Apologies, i've no idea, but I hope the poor child is OK, and your DH also. There's no more terrifying moment in the world than trying to get to your loved in an emergency x

GinDaddy · 30/08/2019 16:41

So many folk saying “parking is horrendous, take the tube” - have you experience of parking in NW1? Or are you just saying the usual line about London, to show the OP “common sense”.

Back on topic - suggest to OH that he parks on Westminster side of Euston Road, near Warren Street tube.

Whitfield Street, Grafton Mews, Fitzroy - they’re on residents parking but that’s up till 18:30. After that you’re good, and Congestion Charge finishes at 18:00 so no charge there.

GinDaddy · 30/08/2019 16:42

He’ll need to drive round a bit but most of the small side roads are operating on the same principle so if he finds one with a space, nab it. Best of luck.

DogWorried · 30/08/2019 16:43

I hope your little one is okay OP Flowers

Stormwhale · 30/08/2019 16:46

I would echo the above to get the tube. My dh was admitted there and bil and I were incredibly lucky to find a road space nearby but there was hardly any spaces at all.

Wishing ds better.

HariboLecter · 30/08/2019 16:51

I can't advise on parking, but hoping your little one will be okay x Flowers

Lindor · 30/08/2019 16:52

We often park at the Brunswick centre underground car park.
It’s not cheap but always has spaces and the bonus of shops (Boots, Waitrose) .

There are various other NCP car parks nearby.

Sending you all good wishes

IsobelRae23 · 30/08/2019 16:53

Flowers for your little one

holsfinis · 30/08/2019 17:01

Thanks all. DC has been admitted now. DH was driving from Stoke Newington with other dc, as ambulance wouldn't take us so an off duty policeman and his wife dropped us off instead - shoutout to them!

Severe concussion but will be ok !

OP posts:
KatieB55 · 30/08/2019 17:01

I've used Brunswick Centre & the underground car park at Euston Station - but expensive. Try using the Just Park app.

holsfinis · 30/08/2019 17:01

Forgot to say, I found DH some parking at Lomax Parking on St George Mews. Seems ok!
