pre labour - how long??

I'm asking for how long your labour went on before you were officially in labour!!
Dd is well over 24 hours of irregular but agonising contractions now, one trip to hospital, several broken naps and many many tears

Poor girl, this is really long, closer to 36 hours I'd say and no sign of any pattern yet even though some of the contractions are up to a minute long.

Aibu to think she should have her darling baby in her arms by now? I know I am a bit....

Hit me!!

I’ve been watching - fingers crossed it won’t be long now x

RachelEllenR · 18/08/2019 23:05

Pleased to hear they're keeping her in. I had 4 days of latent phase it was awful - really painful contractions and zero sleep. She has my sympathy! Hope she's almost there now.

Platypusmama · 18/08/2019 23:10

My dd was also back to back, I was in the latent stage of labour for 40 hours (sorry!!), they gave me a shot of pethidine to help me sleep.. about 20 minutes later my waters broke, dd flipped and was born 6 hours later. Sending your lovely dd tons of good vibes Flowers

pandarific · 18/08/2019 23:12

Yay! Thanks You can tell her from me that once I was 10cm and had hit transition it stopped hurting at all, was just a feeling of power - fingers crossed it's the same for her and the rest is easier. Sending oxytocin vibes!

BenjiB · 18/08/2019 23:23

Poor thing . I was like that with my first. I went to hospital after 5 hours of agonising labour and wasn’t even one centimetre and was sent home. I went back after 19 hours, the pain was so bad I was convinced I was about to give birth but was still only 1cm. I had my son 10 hours later. Fingers crossed it’s over for her soon.

Crunchymum · 18/08/2019 23:26

She'll be on good hands now.

Fingers crossed for news of a baby when I get up tomorrow!!

TheTrollFairy · 18/08/2019 23:33

Glad she’s finally in hospital.
Flowers for you both. My mum was with me in hospital and after having my daughter I realise how hard things like this must be for a mum to watch.

Hope your daughter is holding her baby really soon!

Harvey3 · 18/08/2019 23:36

Awww, hurray! Smile how did it go for her in the end? Hope she's resting well now bless her!

Subeccoo · 19/08/2019 11:36

It was quick in the end, under 6 hours. I saw her being born, it was just incredible. My dd can't believe she's a mummy now, it's all sinking in. Little one is just perfect, feeding beautifully and we're going home soon
