Oh Lorayn, you poor creature, referring to Wikipedia. I'm off now to spread alarm, despondency - and dashes! - in other forums (not fora, note, because that's incorrect).
PARPP!

humour is good but some things aren't very funny.

It was the first article I came across when I looked for the correct usage of the dash.
It's okay, I think most people, unlike yourself, won't be too offended by your incorrect grammar, after all, it is the point we are trying to make which is most important, rather than our typing.

lillaura123 · 06/08/2007 14:17

I;ve come in late on this thread as it seems to have deviated a little however to the OP....
Your freinds is being a bit silly (and yes that is an extremely mild, watered down version of what I want to say)!!

Petitioning Downing Street for something I doubt she even understands other than her e-bay purchase is late and credit card statement is missing - no thought to the thousands of hard working mena dn women who are being completely screwed by an unscrupulous employer.

Even though TNT are running a competitor service and the Amazon contract was lost Royal Mail posties are still delivering all thier stuff!

FWIW most postmen I know (including DH) would weldome government input, as they are the only one who can over rule Alan Leighton and co.

Anyone who lives in a house financially affected by postal strikes can't afford to be stuck up

Penny are you the one who started the petition?

LowFatPumpkinJuice · 06/08/2007 17:52

Rantmum · 06/08/2007 17:54

I'd be interested to know exactly when it became "stuck up" to support strike action?

filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 06/08/2007 18:13

we could start having a spelling and grammar test as a prerequisite to joing the site!
