You've been doing very well tonight, Pedant . So far you have caught all mistakes, including the deliberate ones .

ThePedantifier · 04/08/2007 23:32
Aitch · 04/08/2007 23:33

what on EARTH are you talking about, lilaura? i absolutely despair, i really do.

expatinscotland · 04/08/2007 23:33

Your help is always appreciated, Pedant.

Aitch · 04/08/2007 23:35

btw, it's picket line. not picket fence. i mean that's so depressing it's funny.

lillaura123 · 04/08/2007 23:36

"He's not old, but he remembers what happens when you break the chain"

does this mean that your dh once broke a strike and now agress with RM strike surely that is contradiction - correct me if im wrong i know you will anyway lol

so what is that happens if you break the chain? let me guess if you follow the group and the opinions of it you get bullied i am becoming more and more convinced that RM might be run by some MN members

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 04/08/2007 23:36

I commiserate with you, Aitch.

ThePedantifier · 04/08/2007 23:38

This is a picket line.

This is a picket fence.

This is someone picking their nose.

I hope that helps.

lillaura123 · 04/08/2007 23:38

sorry my mistake was looking at the perfect world of your day, full of picket fences and sunshine - and lack of respect and opinions and got confused

Dear God.

expatinscotland · 04/08/2007 23:38

It's pointless even trying to explain to you, lil, that's what is so depressing about this thread.

But for what it is worth, probably very little to you, he remembers when people went on strike during the Thatcher era and what that meant, and what it meant when those strikes were broken.

And what it means now.

And it's not a good thing, laura, it really isn't.

Your posts are highly indicative of that.

UCM · 04/08/2007 23:38

Laura, if people do not unite about issues that affect them all, then nothing will be done. What will happen is that the big bosses will get richer, then they will send the company into liquidation (I know this can't exactly happen with the RM). Because the big bosses are not actually responsible for anything as they are usually so far away from any real work. You will end up paying 1.50 to send a letter.

The Royal Mail has a history of years & years and I for one, do not want it to stop. But I agree that the people actually doing the work, the sorters & the postmen, need to be paid properly so that they can deliver the mail properly.

ThePedantifier · 04/08/2007 23:39

Ah yes, the 1950s, when we were all in our early 40s... I remember it so fondly, don't you Aitch?

lillaura123 · 04/08/2007 23:39

did you know that sarcasm is the lowest form of wit and intellegence whos being stupid and pathetic now - and thats intentional - at least my lack of brain cells is a good excuse

OP posts:
UCM · 04/08/2007 23:41

So Laura, how would you feel if your partner was a postman and was being bullied & intimidated by his bosses to accept a really crap deal.

lillaura123 · 04/08/2007 23:42

so u choose to ignore rather than help educate me? ill ask again what does your dh remember happens when u break the chain?

OP posts:
themoon66 · 04/08/2007 23:42

UCM on Sat 04-Aug-07 23:38:49 sums it up perfectly. Thank you ucm.

themoon66 · 04/08/2007 23:43

lillaura123 no-one is ignoring you. Read the entire thread if you wish to be educated. Please.

expatinscotland · 04/08/2007 23:44

'Oh, the horror! The horror!'

ThePedantifier · 04/08/2007 23:44

The full quote is "Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, but the highest form of intelligence".

Thank you!

expatinscotland · 04/08/2007 23:45

One golden hyphen for the Pedant, please!

ThePedantifier · 04/08/2007 23:45

For that, I will forgive you for brooch and gouge

Right, I really AM going to bed now!

lillaura123 · 04/08/2007 23:46

UCM he would get another job because keeping the money coming in is more important than workmates think -

so UCM how would you feel if everyone disagreed woth u about this and stared bullying you? surley thats a similar feeling because i certainly wont bk down on my views just because you all disagree - neither would i in the workplace im more of a shepard than sheep - i wont follow you lot cause you tell me too - as are these postpersons (PC) doing for thire fellow work mates

what would you all do break the chain or have hungry children

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 04/08/2007 23:47

Please do, Pedant, I am a foreigner who makes strides to adjust my spelling.

lillaura123 · 04/08/2007 23:47
