What the hell do I do with my hair!?

I’m 25, I’m a big with with a round face. At the moment I have quite thick hair which comes down to just below my boobs. It’s flat, boring, heavy and lifeless. I have a hair apt this morning and I need help!

I will get it thinned, but other than that I just don’t know what to do. Would a fringe suit a fat face or make it worse? Grin Aside from having the split ends off, is shorter better? I just worry it will age me/make me look even bigger..

I’m just so bored of it at the moment. It looks lifeless whatever I do to it!

OP posts:

Well at 25 I think you’re too old to have hair below your boobs! Get it cut shorter to shoulder level and thinned out and layered. Maybe also some fouls?

RubberTreePlant · 01/08/2019 08:52

Try a side-swept fringe for a round face.

northernknickers · 01/08/2019 08:53

Rubbish @SuzieQQQ long hair looks good at any age, that's your opinion, but totally unfounded and untrue (and actually quite mean!).

OP, try googling 'best hair styles for a round face' and see what comes up. Also, a good stylist should be able to advise you...but don't feel railroaded by them. If you really don't like any of their suggestions, don't agree!

Keep your lovely long hair if you want to (I would, by the way!).

motortroll · 01/08/2019 08:54

How is 25 too old to have hair that long???!!! There's no age limit, if you like it long keep it long!

I think maybe some layering and a sweeping fringe? Hard to say without knowing what you look like!

PunkTrumpet · 01/08/2019 08:54

I second a side-swept fringe! Keep the length if you love it Grin

envelopeofpubes · 01/08/2019 08:56

Bloody hell, if OP is too old to have long hair at 25 we’re all doomed.

Ignore that nonsense OP - what colour is it? Bleach adds texture to hair and makes it less ‘flat’. Could you add some lightening balayage?

northernknickers · 01/08/2019 08:57

Something like this perhaps? (Maybe worth noting the age of the woman in question here...shock, horror...WAY over 25 and looks PHENOMENAL 😱)

What the hell do I do with my hair!?
SuzieQQQ · 01/08/2019 09:01

@northernknickers just because I made a comment you don’t agree with, it doesn’t make me mean. It’s my opinion, I’m allowed to have it. If I’d said “ only slapped have hair that long” then yes that would be mean.

cheeseislife8 · 01/08/2019 09:02

I've got a round face and recently went for a longish side fringe with a long bob, it took some of the roundness away. As for the length, have whatever length you want!

MagicMojito · 01/08/2019 09:07

I'm 30 and have hair just above boob length . It looks fab and actually makes me feel good about myself when I can be arsed to do it properly Grin

I'd say maybe chop a couple of inches off, but still keep it long. Add in layers and a side sweeping fringe. Something as simple as changing your parting can sometimes make a big enough difference.

hopski · 01/08/2019 09:10

@SuzieQQQ I have hair below my boobs....I'll go and get it chopped right this second 🙄🙄

AudacityOfHope · 01/08/2019 09:13

Out of interest, what's the last age you can have long hair? Confused

SinkGirl · 01/08/2019 09:16

You say you have a fat face - I am definitely in possession of a fat face too but I also have really fine hair. Having thick hair is a blessing, you have a lot more options!

What actual shape is your face? I thought mine was square but actually the specsavers gadget told me it’s triangular (basically the worst shape face to have... brilliant!).

You need to figure out your face shape as that will help a lot!

Trickyteens · 01/08/2019 09:20

I used to think long hair looked weird onelderly people, but my ex elderly neighbour had hers always done up in a bun, and it looked great.

Trickyteens · 01/08/2019 09:20

And OP, how about layers?

Elphame · 01/08/2019 09:22

Mine is long and very very thick (and I'm twice 25 and then some - I really don't care!)

Having it undercut (although I expect a certain poster might say I'm too old for that too!) has made a huge difference. It hangs much better and it's knocked a couple of hours off the drying time. I can even put it up with a clip which I couldn't do before as I couldn't get one big enough to take the volume of hair and the weight.

gingersausage · 01/08/2019 09:26

@SuzieQQQ what the actual hell are you on? Are you joking and it came across badly?? No one is too old or too young or too fat or too thin or too anything to do or be exactly what the fuck they want to. People like you who knock other women down need to get off the internet.

lostfrequencies · 01/08/2019 09:28

Suzieqqq it was just a really bizarre comment.

slinkysaluki · 01/08/2019 09:29

25 too old for long hair 😐 really ?

PutyourtoponTrevor · 01/08/2019 09:29

I'm 45 and my hair was boob length until I had it cut 6 weeks ago into a bob. I hate it and am growing it back, maybe I shouldn't bother now being too old?

Fuck off

SoyDora · 01/08/2019 09:32

I’m 34 and have hair below my boobs! I love it Smile

GrumpyMcGrumpFace · 01/08/2019 09:32

I think 25 is probably too old to wear a “I am 24” badge, but not much else.

I agree side swept fringe looks lovely, very flattering. Maybe also chat to hairdresser about how to keep your hair in as good a condition as possible, so you look luxuriant. I’m very jealous of your thick long locks. Not to mention your youth!

supercee · 01/08/2019 09:33

I'm 37 and cut my fairly long hair to just above my shoulders. Hated it and I'm not (trying) to grow it back. I usually have it slightly curled anway so looks shorter than it is. If there's any age to embrace long hair it's 25!

Just get them to take some weight out of it and maybe change the parting?

recklessruby · 01/08/2019 09:33

OP your hair sounds lovely. I m twice your age and have similar length and when i did have it cut 5 years ago it didnt suit me at all.
So keep the length but try highlights or low lights/ balayage would probably look great on thick hair.
Side parting and a feathery fringe would help with round face.
Good luck x
