To ask how anyone keeps their pubes inside their swimwear?

I am NOT a Hairy Mary. In fact, blessed with a very neat Bikini area which I also had lasered to keep it extra tidy. Problem is, pubes that remain always end up sticking out the sides of swimwear. I have no intention of doing the whole pre-pubescent total wax business but just want to know how on earth do other women avoid this problem? I tried trimming with scissors one year and the scratchiness was UNBEARABLE. Ideas?

The thread title has made me howl 😂😂 Hairy Mary !!

SlipperOrchid · 22/07/2019 00:22

I don’t understand how trimming can itch either unless you didn’t clear away the trimmed hair and it irritated you. When you leave the hairdressers after getting a haircut, your head doesn’t itch!
Next time just shower afterwards to ensure all the trimmed hair is definitely gone. That is what I do.

I would like to know, what happens to all this hair that is being, shaved or cut off whatever.!! I get plenty of cat hair in my house, never mind pubic hair.!

NeckPainChairSearch · 22/07/2019 00:36

Neckpain You're new here, aren't you?

Dunno. Is 12 years of posting on MN 'new'? Nice attempt at being a complete arse to a newcomer, though @Miljah.

Thanks Abbeynormal and Spoonblender. Hopefully, admin will be along to reassure us that there's nothing hairy-handed going on...

ispepsiok · 22/07/2019 00:37

Wear a full on wet suit, problem solved

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 22/07/2019 00:46

I either braid it or duct tape it down

Elvesdontdomagic · 22/07/2019 01:06

If anyone doesn't know this one, witch hazel gel stops any itching after shaving. A completely bald fanjo doesn't have to itch!

stucknoue · 22/07/2019 01:09

Bikini line wax, or stop caring...

S1naidSucks · 22/07/2019 01:24

If you wear the right swimsuit, no one will notice a few stray hairs. I favour this one, myself.

Glad I'm not the only one remembering the Smack the Pony sketch Grin

SuzieQQQ · 22/07/2019 04:29

I don’t get how this would happen if you were t quite hairy. Swim suits go way past where there would be hair normally. Especially if you get a wax.

TriptychDebbie · 22/07/2019 05:13

I'm a fan of Victorian retro. Unless you look like Chewbacca it should do the job perfectly and keep that pesky pant-beard in check.

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 22/07/2019 05:23

SuzieQQQ agree. I'm not an extreme waxer/shaver, just a bit off the sides is enough for normal swimsuits and bikinis.

My imagination is somewhere between smack the pony & assuming OP is actually wearing some tiny thong.

Yeahnahmum · 22/07/2019 06:05

Trimming with scissors made it scratchy
HOWHmm

StarlightLady · 22/07/2019 06:18

Remove it (shave/wax) and accept that hair removal has nothing more to do with a pre-pubescent look, any more than an adult man who shaves his face does.

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 22/07/2019 08:02

I swim every day so just make sure my bush is trimmed and neat and I never have any problems.

FaithInfinity · 22/07/2019 08:17

If you cut with scissors it can make the hairs blunt which makes it itchy. Personally I trim with a lady razor and then finish off with Veet. I also favour tankinis with shorts, I like Slazenger ones with have a bust support.

zingally · 22/07/2019 08:26

Men's swim shorts!!

I buy the shortest ones they have, and they are great! SOOO much more comfortable than women's swimwear, and come in all sorts of fun patterns and colours. :) I wear a tankini on top.

Discovered this combo about 4 years ago now... Wouldn't go back!

letsleepingbabieslie · 22/07/2019 10:32

This is the first time I've been accused of being an under-the-bridge-ogre. Kind of exciting. I'm definitely not, although I am now thinking I am clearly a freak as so few people on the thread seem to think this is a real problem.
To all who have shared the post-trim 'hedgehog in pants' feeling, I literally share your pain.
I do not wear a thong (ugh!) or high cut swimsuits. I used to do boy shorts but now they seem to accentuate my post-baby lard arse so have gone back to normal, mumsy, sensible (I thought) bog standard swim suit. Maybe board shorts might work.
Clearly, I must have exceptionally long pubes, as even though there is at least half an inch smooth skin between the edge of my swimsuit and the roots of my bush, some of it always finds its way out. I don't sunbathe legs akimbo, but having two small children who are convinced they can swim they can't means I am constantly leaping around the pool and what gets tucked in at the start doesn't necessarily stay there. Maybe I am also overestimating the extent to which it is visible to anyone else.
To those offended by discussion of the short (or not so short, in my case) and curlies - nobody forced you to join in.

I don’t think anyone really looks closely enough to see.

SomewhereInbetween1 · 22/07/2019 10:53

I don't tend to make a habit of glancing at other women's fannies to stake out their pube situation. I think you're worrying over nothing, no one will care.

NeckPainChairSearch · 22/07/2019 13:04

That's not the reason people posted with concerns, though is it? No one's 'offended by discussion.'

There is a long history on MN of posters - frequently with little to no posting history - popping up to ask people to share pube/poo/underwear/etc. stories.

Unsurprisingly, a number of posters might be alert to that kind of thing.

chickensdontpocktheypeck · 22/07/2019 14:48

IN that case yes, I’d assume your pubes are long. If they are long enough to still get out the sides of your swinsuit.
Trim them if it bother someone you.

Maybe condition them to soften them off..? God knows
