To wonder why people are so inconsiderate!

On a lovely holiday in Greece. We are staying in a small, family friendly apartment complex with only 8 apartments. Everyone has been so considerate, no noise, quiet around the pool, just generally nice and chilled.
Yesterday, two middle aged women and a teenage boy arrived and have been put in the apartment next to ours. We’ve had gangsta rap at full volume yesterday afternoon, this morning the women are chain smoking on the balcony (which is only separated by a glass screen), burping loudly, discussing their sex lives and every other word is ‘Fuck’.
Why? What makes them think it’s ok to be inconsiderate? Just hoping they’re only here a week!

I feel for you op. I don't what the answer is really. Perhaps mention it to the owner/reception of the accommodation.

MotherOfDragons90 · 12/07/2019 23:28

YANBU. Some people really are just shit.

Every so often I get woken up at 2/3 in the morning by ‘the rapper’. Basically a bloke on a bike who rides down our street with music blaring on a boom box of some kind, rapping along. Every time I wonder how the hell someone can think it’s ok to be so inconsiderate. The mind boggles!

lavenderbluedilly · 12/07/2019 23:32

In the past I would have quietly seethed but put up with it. Not any longer - I’d be straight down to reception asking for something to be done. Why should you spend £££ on a holiday for it to be ruined by someone else!

Pipandmum · 12/07/2019 23:34

They are behaving just the way they do at home, not giving anyone else a thought.

Doesitevenmatternow · 12/07/2019 23:51

Ugh. They sound like two female characters from Viz. Complain

Aftertheparty · 13/07/2019 07:02

Well last night took the biscuit! We were woken at 2.30am by them returning to the apartment, screaming, shouting and banging furniture around. Laughing and shouting at the tops of their voices. Then the music started up in their balcony so DH went out and said to turn it off. He got a barrage of foul mouthed abuse and was told they’ve come on holiday and they’ll do what they want. He also told them their language was appalling. It did go quiet soon after but I’m now dreading sitting out at being around the pool around them.
They really are scumbags. The problem is that the apartments are set slightly away from the main hotel block so to have complained last night would have meant dressing and a few minutes walk away. We’ll complain to the managers today, it’s not acceptable at all. Wish us luck, we’ve looked forward to this lovely relaxing break for a while and I’m gutted to think these morons will probably ruin it.

Ask to be moved, sod them it's your holiday too.

Barbarafromblackpool · 13/07/2019 07:08

Ask to be moved.

Aftertheparty · 13/07/2019 07:12

There are only 8 apartments and they are all full, we really don’t want to move from the complex, we came here last year and deliberately chose to come here again this year. They should be moved, not us.
We’ll get hold of the manager today, ask for a phone number so if it’s noisy again later we can call. I’m so annoyed (and tired!)

Crustytoenail · 13/07/2019 07:13

Ask to be moved if it's possible, I'll always offer to move someone when in these circumstances if I can because people like that just don't shut up for anyone, and get nasty with the people who they know have complained as well as staff and management. It's the best solution all round though it does impact on your holiday, but less so than a show down or a week/fortnight of that!
It's horrible when people just don't care because you can't appeal to their better nature because they just don't have one!
Good luck.

Crustytoenail · 13/07/2019 07:16

Ah sorry, cross post. Totally agree that they should move or be kicked out more like, but unfortunately people who behave like that don't give a shite about who's doing the telling.

Crustytoenail · 13/07/2019 07:17

Oh and be making lots of noise this morning! 🤪

Aftertheparty · 13/07/2019 07:22

Just gone out on the balcony to this! I despair

Bigbopboo · 13/07/2019 07:24

Oh OP I hope you get it sorted. I would be livid

Isatis · 13/07/2019 07:26

If they're vandalising the apartments, that should give the management ample excuse to chuck them out.

Bigbopboo · 13/07/2019 07:27

Agree. They may get thrown out

Bourbonbiccy · 13/07/2019 07:29

That's disgusting, some people have been dragged up and just simply do not know how to behave.

I would be livid.
First stop would be a visit to the manager office, surely the graffiti is cause for them to be removed from the apartments.

I do hope you get this resolved, it's just atrocious

KatherineJaneway · 13/07/2019 07:30

Complain to the manager, show him / her that picture. So sorry you're having to put up with these arseholes.

Unfortunately you come across people like this, don't give a shit about anyone.

Oh, if anyone reading my post has also read the thread about what is 'common', the actions of OP's neighbours sums 'common' up nicely.

letsdolunch321 · 13/07/2019 07:33

Take a photo of that on your phone, show the managers.

There should be security during the hours of 11pm - 7am who should come to the apartments to sort any problems.

IncrediblySadToo · 13/07/2019 07:33

Either their sex lives are really bad or their drawing is

Sorry... hopefully the Msnagement will give them a warning and next but if uncivilised behaviour will get them evicted

I have s place in France I love going to each year and there’s a private apartment I like to rent as it’s beautiful and I live the owner but the nouse of the inconsiderate through the night means I get no sleep so I’m shattered, I’m booking somewhere else this year 😢

IncrediblySadToo · 13/07/2019 07:34

Take a photo of that on your phone,

What- you mean like the one she’s uploaded here?

Mollieben1 · 13/07/2019 07:36

Feel your pain. We have encountered people like this on the last two holidays we have been on. No one expects people to be totally quiet on holiday but basic consideration for others surely! Some people just do not care. Hope you get something sorted

sundaylast · 13/07/2019 07:36

By the looks of it they have came on to your balcony too which cannot be safe for many different reasons! Really feel for you op!

Aftertheparty · 13/07/2019 07:39

No it’s a glass screen, they’ve drawn it backwards with lipstick I think. I’ve just been to the main hotel, they will have a word. I’m not hopeful it will be resolved as easily as that. They just aren’t the type to listen.

urbanlife · 13/07/2019 07:40

Speak to the manager and ask that they warn the other holiday makers that if they behave like this for a second night they will be told to leave. No more loud music or bad language.

What a national embarrassment.
