To wonder why people are so inconsiderate!

On a lovely holiday in Greece. We are staying in a small, family friendly apartment complex with only 8 apartments. Everyone has been so considerate, no noise, quiet around the pool, just generally nice and chilled.
Yesterday, two middle aged women and a teenage boy arrived and have been put in the apartment next to ours. We’ve had gangsta rap at full volume yesterday afternoon, this morning the women are chain smoking on the balcony (which is only separated by a glass screen), burping loudly, discussing their sex lives and every other word is ‘Fuck’.
Why? What makes them think it’s ok to be inconsiderate? Just hoping they’re only here a week!

They are exactly that - an national embarrassment. There are many nationalities here, all quiet, respectful and nice to be around. Then these lowlifes come along. I’m ashamed to be British.

You poor things - how bloody dare they.

It's good need for you that they've drawn the cock though - gives you evidence to support your complaint. Make sure you keep the photo and show it to the hotel - email the tour operator if you used one?

EleanorReally · 13/07/2019 07:49

Bloody shameless

floribunda18 · 13/07/2019 07:49

They will be of the type that say they have a right to enjoy their holiday in their own way, and bugger anyone else. And everyone else is just boring, anyway.

Lovemusic33 · 13/07/2019 07:52

How horrible, I really feel for you. Makes sure you make it clear to management that your really upset and angry, why should your holiday be ruined by these inconsiderate w*nkers? They should be kicked out for the vandalism/writing on the glass and antisocial behaviour.

I actually hate the thought of staying at a resort in fear some one will be noisy and rude. On holiday I want to relax and not listen to others shouting and swearing. No one should have to put up with this whilst trying to relax.

Aftertheparty · 13/07/2019 07:52

Actually on closer inspection they’ve leaned over and drawn it on our side - I’m actually embarrassed because it looks like we’ve drawn it ourselves. What a nightmare, DD2 is only 11 and is quite upset.

I would also advise you not to approach them yourselves.

If the manager is not prepared to make them leave if this continues - and one would hope they would simply remove them, then I would ask if they can move you to another apartment on the same complex (if you are happy to stay) Perhaps one of the other apartments will become free in the next day or two?

This doesn't solve the issue, and I feel for the next poor family that will be stuck next to them, but may at least salvage your holiday.

RagamuffinCat · 13/07/2019 07:53

I bet their neighbours at home are relieved they have gone on holiday. Can you imagine living next door to people like that?

F2Feee · 13/07/2019 07:53

Utter scum. Yes do complain and ask for them to be moved. Given that yourll were there last year, I'm sure the complex wouldnt want to lose returning customers. They sound like gutter trash. Sorry op. Try get it sorted asap and not let it ruin your holiday.

billybagpuss · 13/07/2019 07:56

I thought it looked like it’s drawn the right way round, the letters are too normal although I can’t completely make out the second word (although can guess and the spelling is dreadful) hope it’s sorted

DuckbilledSplatterPuff · 13/07/2019 07:57

Make sure you report it. Even the fact that they have leaned over and done it on your side, presumably to get you into trouble. Don't accept that. Its high up and fairly obvious that they've leaned over. Or you could argue to the management that they might have climbed over and you no longer feel safe as this could be the start of more aggressive behaviour and they need to do something about it. Video any more nonsense and if the management won't act, you should be able to complain higher up or claim compensation from the holiday, company. I hope it dies down or the management solves it for you though as I'm sure you'd rather have a good holiday x

jackstini · 13/07/2019 07:59

Feel for you OP

Are there rules in the complex - no music after 11, no smoking etc. or anything that management can use as a reason to boot them out?

Hope it gets solved Thanks

MilkTrayLimeBarrel · 13/07/2019 08:06

Oh OP how absolutely horrible for you and your family! I cannot stand people like this who have no thought or consideration for others. Hope you get it sorted out quickly this morning.

Maitairiki · 13/07/2019 08:11

Definitely report it

HennyPennyHorror · 13/07/2019 08:30

People like this can't be reasoned with. Demand to be moved...I would. Tell the management you're going to the press if they get funny about it...

Iamthewombat · 13/07/2019 08:32

With people like that, it’s almost a gesture of defiance. Like they are somehow sticking it to the man, or something, and striking a blow for freedom by behaving horribly (and making life difficult for people who behave considerately).

There’s no reasoning with people like that. You’ve just been unlucky. I hope the apartment management team tell them what’s what. I bet the contract allows them to chuck out badly behaved guests.

Aftertheparty · 13/07/2019 08:33

Luckily the Tui rep is visiting this morning too so we’ve just told her. The main manager has been informed and the rep says he doesn’t take this sort of thing lightly. Let’s see what happens today 🤞

OP posts:
TheInvestigator · 13/07/2019 08:36

How can anyone think behaving that way is OK/cool. Do they think it makes them special? I really don't know what sort of people think that's normal. They're just scum. Don't approach them again; it really will not be worth it as they will think it's hilarious to abuse you.
Get the management every time. If they do anything around the pool, record it and then go to management. If they have music blaring in the middle of the night then record it and go to management. If they harass you at all, and management don't kick them out then demand that police are called. The hotel won't want that so it should push them into action.

RightMover · 13/07/2019 08:39

Oh god how bloody awful. Hope you get sorted!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 13/07/2019 08:41

Actually on closer inspection they’ve leaned over and drawn it on our side -

I wondered how they'd managed to write the letters backwards - they don't sound the type who could work the logistics of that out.

I'm so sorry you're experiencing this. Do you think other holidaymakers at the complex will add their voices to yours and get these harridans thrown out?

I don't know why loud people choose quiet places for their holidays - there are plenty of noisy places with lots of nightlife if that's what you want.

HairyFloppins · 13/07/2019 08:41

How crap for you OP. Sorry these arseholes are ruining your stay. Bet their neighbours are glad they have gone on holiday. Ask to see the hotel manager and I wouldn't leave until they moved them or you.

Dippypippy1980 · 13/07/2019 08:42

There is another thread asking what is considered common. Unfortunately you are next door to it.

I am so sorry that this has happened on your lovely holiday. Some People are dreadful - my blood would be boiling.

Witchofzog · 13/07/2019 08:45

This is disgusting op. But in a way the vandalism is good because it is something tangible to throw their disgusting arses out for good. Hopefully others will be complaining and then hopefully the tui rep gets rid of them once and for all

funnylittlefloozie · 13/07/2019 08:46

They sound totally grim. Hopefully the management will boot them out, and you can enjoy the rest of your holiday in peace.

PregnantWithThird · 13/07/2019 08:48

Angry for you op! Some people are such arseholes.
