HV just visited, we've just moved, but I haven't registered with GP yet (and she called me by my husband's name)

When I was discharged from Kings, I had to sign to say that the address that they had on record for me, was the address I was.... returning to with ds.
Is Kings unique in that way ?

Katy44 · 26/07/2007 17:02

You're (or your DH) not a paediatrician are you??

Oblomov · 26/07/2007 17:03

This is more suspicious than a 'Murder she wrote'

pointydog · 26/07/2007 17:05

it's gone 5 now. I hope you're on the phone as suggestions are going to get more and more outlandish.

kinki · 26/07/2007 17:12

I was told hvs never call round your house without making a pre-arranged appointment. Even if she didn't have your phone no she called have written. And the reason for this is apparantly security. This may be wrong, but its what my hv told me. I'd check with the surgery if I were you.

pointydog · 26/07/2007 17:15

is she phoning?

ARE YOU PHONING?

WinnieThePooh · 26/07/2007 17:18

That souns TOO WIERD to me. I would be asking all sorts of question as to where she got my details from especially if she called me by DP's name.

PLEASE CALL you local Health authority or surgery that she is attached to to find out.

Oblomov · 26/07/2007 17:19

doo - doo- dooooh .......

pointydog · 26/07/2007 17:21

Bet she's just shambled off to make the tea

callmeovercautious · 26/07/2007 17:29

Darn - thought we would have solved the mystery by now - will come back later!

edam · 26/07/2007 17:39

The government is setting up yet another of their massive IT databases to track all children. The proposal was that if two health/ss/education workers 'flag' a concern, there would be a case conference called. Madness, intrusive, open to serious error and identity theft. But the government lurves massive IT projects that cost billions of pounds - see passport agency/NHS medical records etc. etc. etc.

Funnily enough, THEIR children aren't going to be identified on this database. Celebs and politicians and VIPs kids are too special to be put on a list with all the commoners.

edam · 26/07/2007 17:39

(so I'm imagining your HV's call is to do with some database with your details, is the point)

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 26/07/2007 17:51

Very odd.

When I moved I registered with a new GP. Then 2years later rang the health visitor as was a bit stressed with potty training.

HV had a fit 'cos she didn't know I was in the village, either the GP or old HV sould have told her and she wasn't happy that we'd been missed.

eleusis · 26/07/2007 17:51

I'd be a put off as well by someone uninvited coming by to see my kids. I'd also be offended at the notion that I was to be known by my man's name.

Incidentally, I recently noticed that Sitters does this. My husband has never (and probably will never) arranged the babysitter, but the put the man on the account first. And it's MY credit card, not his. Victorian.

Lizzzombie · 26/07/2007 17:52

That is really weird.
We recently moved, but HV only checked in with us after I sent details off to local health authority. (all post is sent c/o LO's parents) no mr/mrs or ms at all.
strange HV too. she told me DS was slightly off percentile and perhaps I could give him petit filous to help him gain weight?!?!?!?!?! wtf?
He is just 6 months and constantly on the move. Silly cow.
rant over.

MrsNorris · 26/07/2007 17:53

re her calling you MrsDH, are you sure she wasn't calling you MrsDS - does he have DH's surname?
Sounds a bit odd to me, but hopefully not suspicious.

Wilkie · 26/07/2007 20:10

Ha ha ha Lizz that is funny - give him petit filous to help him gain weight. PMSL.

HV - dontcha just love em

taxidriver · 26/07/2007 20:18

i think there is a new system now. sounds pretty much like it is working. people complain when HV doesnt visit so it is all good isnt it?

PotatoOfDoom · 26/07/2007 20:28

I shadowed health visitors as part of my nurse training, and ime they only visited families who were thought to be a bit suspect/in need of help so is it possible a neighbour has said anything that caused their radar to blip?
