I was innocently sat reading a thread when this horrific advert image appeared and burned itself into my retinas.

AIBU to be offended?

Or is it that, as a 44 year old, I am just ignorant of fashion trends, and that this socks n sandals combo is actually 'well peng' or something?

That photo makes me feel a bit ill 😂

JassyRadlett · 04/06/2019 19:11

YANBU that is bloody awful.

Alsohuman · 04/06/2019 19:12

I thought exactly the same when it popped up yesterday.

Mantalini · 04/06/2019 19:21

It's a child sized foot... With an adult's tattoo... With the socks and sandals of an OAP.
Damn.

HalloumiGus · 04/06/2019 19:24

That made me properly laugh 😂

hazell42 · 04/06/2019 19:26

I had one with a woman wearing sandals with the worst fake tan tide marks I have ever seen
And her second toe was bigger than her big toe
And she had bunions which pushed her toes into odd angles
Not a great advert for footwear

EKGEMS · 04/06/2019 19:26

Only if it's your exact shoe size

cricketmum84 · 04/06/2019 19:28

Grin fabulous! I've been searching for some sandals for upcoming holiday and these will really make me blend in amongst the multiple Germans on the beach 😂😂

CuriousaboutSamphire · 04/06/2019 19:28

To the RHS I've had women with their backs to me, naked above the waist wearing only some incredibly short denim shorts.

At the top of the page I keep getting the prim looking young woman with the see through top and large nipples.

I have no idea what that means I have been looking at or posting, but I wish it would stop!

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 04/06/2019 19:29

Shock Christ on a bike

BiscuitTinClarabel · 04/06/2019 19:30

YANBU. The only thing worse would be if my DH was wearing those and he didn't have the socks on.

feellikeanalien · 04/06/2019 19:31

Um.... my first thought was surgical support sandals!!!

grincheux · 04/06/2019 19:32

That really made me laugh! They look a bit like the sandals made to go on over bandages and casts...

GarthFunkel · 04/06/2019 19:33

You know you can get socks that have the pattern of a open toed sandal printed on them?

I got them for my dad for his birthday, as a joke.

I saw him at Easter. Wearing them. With his sandals. We were out in public too. Arse Grin

PositiveVibez · 04/06/2019 19:34

'young soles'? More like arse'oles.

ChequerBoard · 04/06/2019 19:35

OMG that's given me a flashback to my 1970s convent junior school. We Had to wear those horrible beige long socks and we had Jesus sandals in the summer.

(Goes to lie down to recover).

misscockerspaniel · 04/06/2019 19:42

Clutching at straws here but could they be gender neutral shoes and socks? Probably bang on trend Grin

Ironmanrocks · 04/06/2019 19:43

Jesus creepers were never trendy - especially with socks. What is happening to the world??!!!

Allhailthesun · 04/06/2019 19:48

We have sliders and white socks round here. You would have never in a billion years said that was a good look but perfectly acceptable now.

Along with fluffy flat sliders that look absolutely wrong with any outfit from PJ’s to jeans, which is unheard off.

TatianaLarina · 04/06/2019 19:53

The incongruous ship tattoo adds to the comedy.

iwantavuvezela · 04/06/2019 19:57

Laughing at your "well peng"

tearinmybeer · 04/06/2019 20:00

trigger warning

this is a trend (again? was it ever a TREND before?)

KurriKurri · 04/06/2019 20:01

There was a thread about these kind of sandals a few years back on MN - I posted that I'd had some as a child, and got a whole lot of PM's from a weirdo foot fetishist - just saying, be careful there are some creepy sandal lovers out there Grin

thinkingcapon · 04/06/2019 20:03

I think that look is amazing. The only reason I don't wear that is because everyone will take the piss and I'm not cool enough x

SummerHouse · 04/06/2019 20:05

Is it ironic?

What?

Confused
