To think Emily in Friends was just as bad as Ross?

Complete bridezilla before the wedding, then Ross says the wrong name and she's upset (understandable) but then insists he go permanently NC with one of his best friends! AIBU or is that just too far?

I'm ill and binge watching the show on the sofa and I have several complaints this time around Grin

Team Emily here. Imagine moving across the world to be with a husband who not only said his ex gfs name during your wedding vows but who is do firmly entrenched in his family/friendship group, that you would see her all the time. And none of his friends/family can see why you might not be happy and make you the villain of the piece. Why should Emily give up everything for Ross while he gives up nothing for her?

As usual Ross caused all his own problems and didn't want to accept the consequences.

@alittleprivacy

*The only unreasonable thing Emily did was keep on trying. Ross' ex turned down the wedding invite because she had unresolved feelings for him. Then she unexpectedly shows up right before the ceremony which possibly prompted Ross to say her name during the vows. Emily is devastated but in the moment of shock and mortification makes a rash decision to plough on with the ceremony. As the shock wears off she obviously can't celebrate her wedding and asks to be left alone which Ross won't allow. Making matters worse his ex comes to the wedding reception which was actually vile behaviour from Rachel. While Emily is in the bathroom Rachel accosts Ross and tries to use him saying her name as proof that he has feelings for her. Just imagine being Emily on the other side of the door hearing that!

So she runs off to deal with her feelings and gets a message from her father that Ross will wait for her at the airport. She decides to try and work on their marriage and goes to the airport with what can only be very, very mixed feelings, and sees Ross and Rachel getting on the flight to their honeymoon. Tbh, if she had physically attacked the two of them at that point I'm not sure she'd have ended up with a conviction. Their behaviour was awful. Then after weeks of Ross just not leaving her alone she eventually concedes to try again even though, due to Ben, she will have to give up her whole life and the security of her friends, family, job, home, etc. And her only condition is that she and Ross have a new start in a new home with Rachel not being a part of their lives? That's not in the least unreasonable towards Ross, the only unreasonableness is the lack of respect she is showing herself by conceding so much. Though, there is a good chance that she's subconsciously testing Ross because she knows deep down that despite his constant pleading with her, Rachel comes first and she wants to prove this to both of them before she implodes her life even more.*

This, in a nutshell!!

And then goes to the wedding AND THE RECEPTION STILL WEARING THE FUCKING TRACKSUIT?!

Friends is always on tv and it always seems to be the Emily episodes or the Bruce Willis episodes. I want to see Mike episodes but never catch any of them! I wonder how Paul Rudd found the cast, if they were cliquey to him as well.

BurntSausage · 15/05/2019 19:03

I watch Friends too much. It’s my go-to programme when there’s nothing else on that I fancy. God I hate Emily so much. The whole London thing gets on my tits. I tend to skip those.

But I definitely agree with this:
Ami the only one who thinks as beautiful as Rachel is, Monica was really the stunner. Never got this whole Rachael always got the boys attention over anyone else.

Courtney Cox is stunning, particularly in the first few series. I think she’d started having fillers a bit later on, but she’s gorgeous. I’d have picked her over Rachel 😁

KaliforniaDreamz · 15/05/2019 21:40

Rachel is very sexy tho. VERY.

Harry Potter isn't real????????
