I am being unreasonable

Next door have recently inflated a hot tub in their garden. There is a bunch of rowdy teenagers loudly carousing in it. My baby's room backs on to the garden and it's keeping her up. I know they have the right to use their garden as they like at seven pm on a Friday but I'm still unreasonably annoyed.

Care to share anything you're unreasonably annoyed about?

7 is still early and the world can’t tiptoe around you jus because you have a baby.
If it was 11pm I could understand

Gertie75 · 10/05/2019 19:22

I get annoyed with two separate men in our street who park their cars outside other people's houses when there's room outside their own, they live in terraced houses so I presume they don't like spoiling their own view.

They don't park outside mine but I get annoyed on the other people's behalf.

CuckooSings · 10/05/2019 19:24

Im unreasonably annoyed because my awesome MIL lost her keys so has turned up on my doorstep till FIL gets home at 8 p.m. I fed the kids early so i could have a treat ready meal in front of the telly. I've had a long week and am irrationally annoyed!

(I am cooking the poor woman some tea and have given her a cuppa and am being very nice)

PenCreed · 10/05/2019 19:31

I get annoyed at people who park across our drive in the morning. Not only do I walk to the station, but we don't have a car.

UnconsideredTrifles · 10/05/2019 19:31

I've spent months quietly fuming at my nice neighbour's nice daughter, because she's been constantly parking her Jag outside their house in such a way that we can't get both cars parked outside ours (and yes, I know I have no right to it and am unreasonable, but they'd asked us not to park outside their house, and she lives round the corner with a double drive).

So, I've been getting increasingly peeved - only to realise yesterday that it's not actually her car - it belongs to the neighbour on the other side.

So I've been double unreasonable...

DantesInferno · 10/05/2019 19:33

I'm loving this thread.... is that bu?

Biancadelrioisback · 10/05/2019 19:34

I'm annoyed at the person opposite me who keeps looking our their front window aka in the general direction of my house. How dare they?!

ReganSomerset · 10/05/2019 19:42

@DantesInferno

YANBU, it's nice to know others are unreasonable too!

Hope your mother in law gets home soon cuckoo.
Pen I'd be annoyed at that too, but the way you phrased it made me Grin

@Biancadelrioisback

Very rude of them. Impudent gits.

I'm annoyed because we are leaving the EU and I don't want to. Feel your pain.

MollysMummy2010 · 10/05/2019 19:54

My daughter is nine and has the cheek to behave as such.

Isth · 10/05/2019 19:56

I work in customer facing sales and that means I have to talk to (sexist old gits) people all day. This annoys me 😂

popsadaisy · 10/05/2019 19:58

Ohhh OP I would feel exactly the same!! Unreasonable or not comes to 7pm on w Friday and I want some peace and my baby to be asleep!

OldAndWornOut · 10/05/2019 19:59

I got irrationally annoyed when my neighbour asked if I would like to go to a boot sale tomorrow.

I wouldn't mind, but I like a boot sale.
I just feel out of sorts and not up to it.

OldAndWornOut · 10/05/2019 20:00

Oops! Wrong thread.

Inmyvestandpants · 10/05/2019 20:02

I've got a neighbour who has loud parties in her garden until 11pm on the last day of term. I wouldn't mind too much, but several years ago she lambasted my DH for mowing the lawn at 7pm on a Saturday. I wouldn't ever dare to lambast her though. Last time there was a loud party my DCs kept saying "Mum why don't you go and ask [Brenda] and her friends to go inside?" and I said, "Because I'm scared of her." So my unreasonable annoyance is at my own cowardice as much as at her noisiness.

ReganSomerset · 10/05/2019 20:02

Isth I hear you. People can be horrendous.

popsadaisy Thanks for your response. Reassuring to know it's not just me. Smile

I'm annoyed at the PP who needs a big fuck off 'lighthearted' klaxon and didn't read the OP properly.

FuriousVexation · 10/05/2019 20:03

I get the rage when someone leaves time on the microwave instead of pressing "Stop" or "Cancel".

sendcoffee · 10/05/2019 20:04

I'm annoyed at a neighbour, next door but one, who has 3 large estate cars that he feels the need to park outside his house (limited on road parking) which then means there's limited space for everyone else.
I had to park in the next road over today after work and waddle over (8mths pregnant) with my 4yr old DS after work & preschool. There was no space at all. This time last year he had 1 car.

Wouldn't mind if they all got driven but he only ever drives one and his wife cycles everywhere!

Why do they need 3 cars!!!

luckylavender · 10/05/2019 20:05

I can't bear Nigel Farage & his gurning face is everywhere.

Celebelly · 10/05/2019 20:07

I'm annoyed at my neighbour mowing his lawn at 9pm last night. Then strimming. Then using some other bloody noisy tool. If he had woken the baby I would have gone batshit (ie. sat in my house and sworn about it to DP and been nice as pie to neighbour when I saw him next)

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 10/05/2019 20:09

my ex sends the children home in odd socks.

NoParticularPattern · 10/05/2019 20:11

I’m annoyed because my toddler kept digging up all my newly planted potatoes today. I mean surely by 15 months she should really understand the importance of not interfering with the gardening? Presumably she thinks she’s helping Hmm

I’m also irrationally annoyed at everyone who leaves the bloody garden gate open. I’ve even put it on a spring to try and make the point obvious that it needs to be shut. I’d try a sign but since they can’t read the existing one and insist on asking if we are “XYZ House” when clearly the sign says “ABC House” I imagine there would be little improvement. One of these days I’m going to become a hermit and then I won’t have to deal with other people not leaving stuff as they bloody found it so that the toddler makes a break for it as soon as she sniffs the back door being opened.

sailorcherries · 10/05/2019 20:13

I'm annoyed that I can't have a glass of wine tonight - I've been off work all week after keyhole surgery and the pain killers explicitly state that they should not be mixed.

I'm not an alcoholic but I've got the candles going, kids and DH are away and it would just round off the scene.
