It's not like you all have not been wondering

OP posts:
Ivegotthree · 08/05/2019 20:10

Awful

Parker231 · 08/05/2019 20:11

My American nephew is a Harrison, one of three in his class when he started kindergarten. It’s not an unusual name in the States.

Prequelle · 08/05/2019 20:11

God it's all so terribly taxing having to open up a webpage or paper and see them isn't it Jaques? Just incredibly mentally and physically draining- why won't they just give the poor posters on here a break Wink

They're damned if they do, damned if they don't. I've heard people slag them off for playing to the cameras and for not giving enough of themselves, apparently they owe it to people - but cant win either way

nannyplummyarse · 08/05/2019 20:12

I hate people giving their kids puns as names. It’s like Kim and Kanye did to poor little North West and they are really not people the royals should be copying.

This has to be hands down the funniest comment of the day 😂

I take it your referring to the Harrison - Harry's son dog shit that's been mention quite a few times today?

How do you know that's the reasoning for the Harrison name? Did they call you and tell you personally? I and many other people looked at that name and didn't make the connection to Harry's son. Maybe they didn't either and they just liked and picked the name 🤷🏻‍♀️

Honestly..the snobbiness is unreal.

littlebillie · 08/05/2019 20:12

I like the names good on them

LaurieMarlow · 08/05/2019 20:12

Did all the people whinging about the awful commonness of the name also moan about Zara’s two being called Mia and Lena?

Sagradafamiliar · 08/05/2019 20:13

HAHA at all the PPs who are so keen to point out that the baby 'isn't a** prince, you know', he isn't directly in line to the throne. He's still royalty, aristocracy is the lowest echelon he could be considered. He's called Archie and he's still posher than ye-ow!
Some middle-class upper-class wannabes have had the wind truly knocked out of the sails. LOL.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 08/05/2019 20:14

The Royal kids do have "normal names, though, don't they.
George Charlotte Louis. Isla. Autumn
Mia. Lena to name just a few. None of them are outlandish or exotic are they..
Archie is cute. I don't like Harrison though. Maybe Meghan wanted his dad's name in there but thought Archie Harrison sounds better than Archie Harry.
I thought they were going to call him
Leo Arthur Charles.

Prequelle · 08/05/2019 20:14

Zara's white and not American so it's okay.

mathanxiety · 08/05/2019 20:14

YY, agree with you Prequelle.

Sagradafamiliar · 08/05/2019 20:16

Typo fails in my last post 😬

Agreed prequelle.

LaurieMarlow · 08/05/2019 20:16

Isla. Autumn

Fuck me I forgot about these two. Autumn for the love of god. If you’re complaining about Archie yet Autumn slipped under your radar then 😂

LaurieMarlow · 08/05/2019 20:17

Zara's white and not American so it's okay.

Amen to that

Prequelle · 08/05/2019 20:17

Harrison is not a bloody pun!! It's actually an old worldwide tradition of names like this. Plenty names mean 'son of', they're called patronymics. I hope none of you have surnames like Johnson etc.

Polarbearflavour · 08/05/2019 20:17

People are saying that Meghan was desperate for Archie to be a prince - when Harry and Meghan declined the courtesy title Earl of Dumbarton for him!

I believe that when Charles becomes king, Archie will be entitled to call himself HRH? He will also be the Duke of Sussex one day.

mathanxiety · 08/05/2019 20:18

How do you know that's the reasoning for the Harrison name? Did they call you and tell you personally? I and many other people looked at that name and didn't make the connection to Harry's son.

To be fair, Nannyplummyarse, it is very obvious that Harrison refers to 'Harry's son'.

DonkeyHohtay · 08/05/2019 20:18

Surprised that "Archie" is seen as common or chavvy south of the border. In Scotland, it's middle class at the very least. Like Archie the Inventor in Balamory, living in his castle with his very RP non-Scottish accent. It was a name we'd thought about for DS.

Harrison though.... urgh. I don't like the name anyway but using it on a child whose father is called Harry is just lunacy.

Maybe they'll come out tomorrow and say "Nah, only joking. It's Philip Arthur Charles".

ChimpyChops · 08/05/2019 20:19

Autumn is Peter's wife, not daughter, their children are Isla and Savannah.

I am undecided on it, I am sure they are hanging on the edge of their seats for my opinion 😂

LaurieMarlow · 08/05/2019 20:19

I'm tired of this couple and all their playing to the cameras

Weren’t they just being criticised for not playing to the cameras by failing to pose outside the Lindo wing?

If the detractors could just keep to a consistent story that would be much appreciated thx.

bengalcat · 08/05/2019 20:20

I like the name Archie , like Alfie it conjures up an image of a raffish rogue . Harrison is probably American - Harrison Ford was a rather good action man / actor . Mountbatten obvs a family name and a nod to the splendid late Lord Mountbatten .

mathanxiety · 08/05/2019 20:20

LaurieMarlow, Autumn Kelly was a perfectly happy private citizen of Canada before she married Peter Phillips. She wasn't born into the RF.

Savannah and Isla are their daughters.

LaurieMarlow · 08/05/2019 20:20

Autumn is Peter's wife, not daughter, their children are Isla and Savannah

Exactly the same point holds for Savannah.

tappitytaptap · 08/05/2019 20:22

Harrison is terrible! American??

NaturalBornWoman · 08/05/2019 20:22

Autumn is Canadian. Her children with Peter Phillips are Savannah and Isla.

NaturalBornWoman · 08/05/2019 20:23

God I'm slow at posting Blush
