Don't want to make this a TAAT, so I'll just say I have enjoyed everyone's observations on the royal family and it's made a boring weekend go much quicker Grin

Please continue if you wish to......

re Jilly Cooper: years ago, I was a 2nd in command person organising a high profile event she attended, along with slebs, toe-sucking royalty etc. After it was all over, team were resting our feet, snaffling up the leftover wine etc, and all the flowers were bundled up for us to take them home - not wasting the flower budget by leaving them behind! - JC swooped down and shrieked "oh darlings, are they for ME? how fabulous!" completely off her head and wandered off with a massive bloody bouquet. I still resent that she took the flowers.

She always struck me as being a diva. I guess you'd have to be to write about the sort of stuff she does!

Soooo, did someone say Rose Hanbury also had an affair with Tony Blair?

Iamnotagoddess · 28/04/2019 21:48

Linda Robson - she’s had some kind of breakdown.

Iamnotagoddess · 28/04/2019 21:50

Jilly Cooper was in the 1999 Paddington Rail disaster.

She was moaning about her latest manuscript being left in the wreckage before they had even got the injured and dead off the train if I remember correctly Hmm

Whizzler · 28/04/2019 21:51

Doesn't Jilly Cooper have some philandering posh husband herself?

Iamnotagoddess · 28/04/2019 21:51

Her husband is dead.

ElektraLOL · 28/04/2019 21:52

And as for the brainwashed brown nosers who won't hear if anything bad said about the BRF, get your priorities straight. Today I witnessed a burglary in a pharmacy. The pharmacist called the police and they wouldn't come because thieves are not a priority any more in a country where the Tory government have cut public services to the bone 😡 all whilst these idiotic toffs live in luxury. For no reason other than who's vagina they came out of.

Think they'd spit on you if you were on fire???

ElektraLOL · 28/04/2019 21:53

If the Queen's uncle hadn't have abdicated the throne for Wallis/Wallace Simpson thus making her dad King we'd have had a completely different Monarchy.

I've always wondered though.
When a Queen marries her spouse does not become king.
However when a king marries his spouse will automatically become Queen.
Is that because kings have to be kings by blood rather than by marriage. IYSWIM

yolofish · 28/04/2019 21:57

Leo was a serial shagger... presumably why Jilly took such a lighthearted view of extramarital games? (I did love Riders and Rivals, and her earlier stuff, so many brilliant observations of life, but from a very priviliged pov. Still funny tho!)

MyBlueMoonbeam · 28/04/2019 21:58

I remember the tampax thing Hmm but didn't know all the details - thanks for the low down Grin

lyralalala · 28/04/2019 21:58

It's because a King outranks a Queen. So you can't have a reigning Queen outranked by her husband.

Whereas a Queen Consort doesn't outrank a King so the wife of a King can be one.

ElektraLOL · 28/04/2019 21:59

When a king marries his wife is Queen Consort rather than Queen?

The sqidgeygate one is there too for your perusal Grin

HillRunner · 28/04/2019 22:00

I believe it's because a king outranks a queen, but no one is allowed to outrank the monarch. Therefore a king's spouse can be a queen (as she is beneath him), but not vice versa (unless he is a king in his own right e.g. in another country). Thus preserving the hierarchy with the monarch at the top.

God no - but she did pose for a photo with him wearing a bikini (her, not Blair Grin) along with her sister.
