Now it won't let me watch anything unless I sign in. No option of watching without a sign in. Why do they need me to "register" and "make an account" to let the kids watch Iggle chump Piggle???

Da fuck do they want more from me for? Is the ridiculous license robbery not enough for them now? FUCK OFF!!!

I hardly even watch or listen to it. We live in an area where cable tv or nothing so have no choice about paying the license fee.

Just set up an account with a made up email address and password, set it so it logs you in automatically, never hear from them again! That's what I've done.

I've only ever had to log in on each device once and it stays logged in. Check your cookie settings, you might be able to save yourself some hassle.

It's the pointless arseness of it. Most people will set it up with disposable details so what is the actual fucking point?

Bit if you sign in then it stores what you've watched and so you can return to things easily if you're halfway through etc. It's not just for their benefit.

I hear you. The first time it asked me to create an account was the last time I used iplayer. The BBC have long since ceased to deserve the licence fee.

BBC iplayer is fine. The Channel 4 (5?) one was the one which I found really really annoying. Just to watch the Brighton marathon. I gave up. Far too much hassle. I have a BBC log in so it doesn't bother me, it remembers my details.

Hate having to give ethnicity though. Why do you always have to choose between White British and White Irish? There must be so many of us in these isles who are mixed!

I thought this thread was going to be about series missing their first episodes because they are only available for 30 days or some such crap.

Frustrating as hell if you are slow off the mark (like me) and people talk about episode 5 of something and you must watch it, only to find I can't get episode 1 or 2.

Get with it BBC, we want box sets, binge tv, and the full bloody series of something. And yes, stop asking me if I have a TV licence, what is the point?
