Fed up with BBC iplayer bullshit

BogusBollocksCraps · 26/04/2019 16:28

Now it won't let me watch anything unless I sign in. No option of watching without a sign in. Why do they need me to "register" and "make an account" to let the kids watch Iggle chump Piggle???

Da fuck do they want more from me for? Is the ridiculous license robbery not enough for them now? FUCK OFF!!!

I hardly even watch or listen to it. We live in an area where cable tv or nothing so have no choice about paying the license fee.

I fucking detest being held to ransom by these woke wanks.

@BogusBollocksCraps

Good grief, who pissed on your chips?! Hmm

FGS just make a throwaway email account. What's the big deal! What a ridiculous fuss over so little.

YABVU. And you sound irrationally angry about something so stupid and pointless. Get a grip, and grow up.

Disfordarkchocolate · 26/04/2019 17:17

I think the BBC is excellent value for money but the iplayer is poor quality. Very slow, poor layout and the new thing were it starts something it thinks you'll like automatically - pain in the arse.

BogusBollocksCraps · 26/04/2019 17:18

Yes ads, every time you watch the news in the morning and they ignore the actual news to instead interview some actor about the very exciting new drama starting this evening, that is an ad. Every time you get a break on the channel with a bunch of trailers for said new drama, that's an ad. All this ad free sales pitch from the BBC is total bullshit, they advertise their own stuff constantly and it is deeply irritating.

I use the iPlayer app on my iPad and cast it to the TV with the he google chromecast thing. Works brilliantly, far better than the options on the TV.

Fairenuff · 26/04/2019 17:19

Don't use them then.

Your choice.

Stick with Netflix which you have to register for, sign in and pay for.

Oh wait...

SoupDragon · 26/04/2019 17:20

they advertise their own stuff constantly

No more than any other channel and you don't get ads for weird toys that appear to vomit slime.

BogusBollocksCraps · 26/04/2019 17:23

Grown ups are allowed to complain about stuff, in reality with far more rights than children and it's how change, progress and improvement happens.

BBC have the public held to ransom.

I would rather see ads for slime vomiting toys than pink brain blue brain drivel.

Netflix won't send the heavies to my door if I decide to watch another channel and cancel the direct debit!

olderthanyouthink · 26/04/2019 17:24

I do hate that we can't switch accounts easily like we can on Netflix so my account is now communal (DPs YouTube account also is) so recommendations aren't personal anymore

Katterinaballerina · 26/04/2019 17:25

They do fill 3 hours with news in the morning so yes, it does have interviews with actors etc. If you’re watching on demand on iPlayer you don’t have to see the trailers for other programs.

ScrewyMcScrewup · 26/04/2019 17:26

Wtf are you on about in your post of 17:12? Have a lie down.

SoupDragon · 26/04/2019 17:29

pink brain blue brain drivel

Wtf are you on about?

EngTech · 26/04/2019 17:29

Ever watched American or Australia TV?

Now that is dire with all the adverts

VPN works a treat 😎😎

SoupDragon · 26/04/2019 17:30

BBC have the public held to ransom.

How? You are allowed to not pay the license fee and simply not watch "as broadcast" TV. No one is going to pin you up against a wall and make you.

RavenLG · 26/04/2019 17:31

All that ranting and you're still watching BBC stuff.

Acis · 26/04/2019 17:32

You're getting an extremely wide range of TV and radio programmes for peanuts, and you're moaning about an incredibly trivial inconvenience. Get over yourself.

NumbersStation · 26/04/2019 17:32

Don't forget that they shamefully invented a spaghetti tree to fool the gullible viewers.

The dirty bastards.

Grin
Weirdwonders · 26/04/2019 17:35

If you want to watch it (which you clearly, really do) then yeah you pay the license fee! And sign up!

Otherwise I’m sure there’s some drivel on Netflix or YouTube you can watch instead. That’s if you want to watch a one hour show padded out to 20 hours or a picture of Iggle Piggle set to some music, pretending to be an episode.

BogusBollocksCraps · 26/04/2019 17:41

You have to pay a license fee if you watch anything on a live channel.

So although my viewing is mainly Fox, Sky, ComedyCentral, SciFi, Eden etc I have to pay the BBC. How is that logical?

OP posts:
caughtinanet · 26/04/2019 17:41

Just reading your posts is giving me the stress, it can't be good for a person to get so angry about such a trivial thing. Sign up or don't, no one's forcing you.

Katterinaballerina · 26/04/2019 17:44

Have you been watching Fox News?

BogusBollocksCraps · 26/04/2019 17:47

I catch news on CNBC and Aljazeera but mostly read online

OP posts:
BogusBollocksCraps · 26/04/2019 17:48

Oh and Sky news too a bit

OP posts:
BrightYellowDaffodil · 26/04/2019 17:51

If it’s so awful, don’t use it.

Never had a problem, myself. I log in, it remembers my details so I only have to re-log in very occasionally and the only ads I see are trailers. By logging in, it remembers my place in programmes I’m half way through watching and lets me save favourites so I know when they’re rerun.

If you think Netflix is so much better, why don’t you just watch that instead?

leatherflamingle · 26/04/2019 17:57

Lol @ woke wanks 😂
I agree

SoupDragon · 26/04/2019 17:59

You have to pay a license fee if you watch anything on a live channel.

So don't watch anything as it is broadcast. Job done.
