Just that really. No idea if there's anything more than rumour and speculation, but it's all over social media that Prince William allegedly had an affair with one of Kate's friends, but there is a total media silence on it.
Pretty bizarre considering that Meghan Markle barely has to breathe and the media are covering it.

She was. Her father was Lord Glamis and her mother came from aristocracy as well as a Cavendish-Bentinck.

She was a Strathmore, IcedPurple - a very old Scottish family and certainly part of the aristocracy. Apparently the family line's been intact since 1372, though the Earldom wasn't created until 1606

Sounds like Queen Mum was well posh. But I guess that's no surprise, as in those days it would have been very rare for a royal consort to belong to the more common sort.

A relative of mine (someone I never met) married into the QM's family and had a pretty dreadful time of it. She was most definitely not from the top drawer and by all accounts was made very aware of this by everyone involved, including the QM. She had a sad life, no fairytale ending, so I've never cared much for the QM.

She was pretty posh. I don't know that she'd have been the choice of Queen Mary (QM and the Queen mother's mother heavily plotted to bring her and Bertie together) had she known that her younger son would become King, but she was certainly posh enough that not being a royal princess wasn't an issue.

She might not have shown intellectual curiousity but that doesn’t mean it’s not there. The whole point of Kate is that she is a completely closed book. She’s been knocking around public life for about nearly 20 years and I think all we really know is that she comes from a nice stable middle class family to whom she is very close, was briefly bullied at school, likes photography and appears to be an involved and attentive mother. Beyond that I don’t really think anybody knows much about her, she’s enigmatic and she is a beautiful ornament on the royals but doesn’t distract from the main event. She’s very like the QM in that way, QM never gave an interview in her entire life.

And though she's been in public life longer than most people have been alive, few could think of a single remark she has ever made. Which I think is wise. The royals need to have something of a 'mystique' and reserve about them.
