I came back from somewhere tropical just over a week ago.
Had some mosquito bites that got infected and turned into cellulitis. That’s clearing up with antibiotics.

But now I can see what’s in there and I have actual maggot things.

Fucking help me!

It’s 3am. It is excruciatingly painful and I can feel them move.

I had much Prosecco yesterday as did H. I could wake DD up or could waiti til morning. But i am freaking out badly.

Damn I was awake last night and missed a live gross thread.
Is it wrong to want my own maggots?

GummyGoddess · 22/04/2019 09:17

Did it hurt? Or was it just a feeling of movement?

Sukkermus · 22/04/2019 09:17

Oh my fucking holy hell!! I realised I was holding my breath when reading the thread and thought I would hyper ventilate when I saw them! 😷😫 I am not normally the squemish type, I dear that has changed!
I'm so happy for you they are out (you would be evicted if I were your DH until I was 100% sure)

BastardMozzies · 22/04/2019 09:18

It really really hurt.

BastardMozzies · 22/04/2019 09:19

Like weird stabby electric shock type hurting. Would stab for a while then stop. Last night was really really bad, assume as the fuckers were coming to the surface and thrashing around.
So much better now

OP you are a bloody legend. Nomination for classics!!!

Sukkermus · 22/04/2019 09:21

*I fear

ABC1234DEF · 22/04/2019 09:21

Assuming they're like their boring UK maggoty cousins, they will have been secreting digestive enzymes and nomming on your flesh

Sukkermus · 22/04/2019 09:22

Oh dear god, it gets worse!

FloatingthroughSpace · 22/04/2019 09:22

I had these as a toddler. We lived in a tent camp in East Africa at the time. My mum thought the locals were missing a trick not hanging clothes on the bushes to dry. Then she found out why.

We lived in Africa for several years after this but with line drying only, not on vegetation, none of us ever got them again. OP did you hang clothes on bushes? Just out of interest?

Persimmonn · 22/04/2019 09:23

What the what?!!!!! What?!!!

My whole body is itching now!! Omg, I have no words 😱😱😱

BastardMozzies · 22/04/2019 09:23

I knew today was going to be a great day.

I'm visiting my parents in the UK, I've been for a lovely morning run in the countryside, the sun is shining, and I've just sat down for my coffee as the sun streams into my parents living room, and I've read this beauty of a thread.

OP, you've made me so so happy. I'm glad you're ok but by fuck those tings is nasty!!!

RUOKHUN · 22/04/2019 09:26

This is the best thread ever!

scubadive · 22/04/2019 09:28

Did you say you also live in Africa or do you live in the U.K.? Which country did u visit, East Africa is very large?

Hope you’re arm heals quickly. Flowers

Smotheroffive · 22/04/2019 09:29

Look out everyone, we now have the maggoty mango fly larvae in the UK!

Presumably if we all throw away all our mangoes it'll be ok?!

So glad you are sorted OP and we'll done for the pics...were they on your shoulder out of interest?

DanielRicciardosSmile · 22/04/2019 09:29

*I’m going to take a couple of weeks recuperation somewhere warm and sunny.

Guernsey?*

I'd go with the Outer Hebrides. Guernsey sounds too tropical.

Oh. Dear. God. 😩

Cheekyfeckery · 22/04/2019 09:33

Fucking hell.

I’m never leaving the country again.

That’s put me right off my Crunchy Nuts.

KOBr · 22/04/2019 09:34

Wow!!! I regularly watch mango worm vids because I love stuff like this. I didn't realise humans could get them. 2 weeks they would be fully grown and ready for squeezing out.

You're a legend OP for sharing with us and glad you're sorted.

EnglishRose13 · 22/04/2019 09:34

Am I the only one disappointed there's not a film of them being removed...?

pepperpot99 · 22/04/2019 09:35

OMG how gross (vom). OP you are a maggotty legend. I'd stick to staycationing from now on tbh Wink.

IvanaPee · 22/04/2019 09:37

Jesus. Fucking. Christ. 🤮🤮🤮🤮

OP, you’re a legend.

I need a shower. In bleach.
