Flowers from DH. He took baby boy for a few hours to let me nap, then entertained him so I could drink a hot cup of coffee and read my book. We all just went and had a nice late breakfast in local pub. Walked the dog and off to afternoon tea with my parents and sister later today.

Any one else having a good time?

FFS, haven't you read the T&Cs?

You're not allowed to enjoy Mother's Day on here.

Samind · 31/03/2019 12:21

Sounds gorgeous OP! I've had a lovely day so far too. Loads of snuggles and cooing with LO who is now napping, lovely gifts and a cooked breakfast off dp. Heading to see family soon and looking forward to a lazy, cosy afternoon. Enjoy your day 🥰

Disfordarkchocolate · 31/03/2019 12:23

My youngest cooked me eggy bread for the first time so I had a lovely breakfast. I'm now eating chocolates after a nice bath. Off for fresh air soon. Lovely day, just need some crap tv and a glass of wine to top it off.

maddiemookins16mum · 31/03/2019 12:24

You’re doing it all wrong Op. You should be on here moaning your toddler hasn’t prepped the roast or your teens are still stinking in their pits at lunchtime.
Shame on you.

PS: I’m having a nice day too, DD is doing dinner tonight and got me Bohemian Rhapsody on DVD to watch after dinner with pudding/cream 😊

Meralia · 31/03/2019 12:24

Yes me.

My teenagers baked me a cake last night, which was a nice surprise this morning. I got a lovely card and a necklace with a motherhood quote on, my toddler made me a hand print canvas, and my hubby has popped out to get us all lunch.

Meralia · 31/03/2019 12:25

Sorry, husband! I know mn hate the term ‘hubby’!

TantrumsAndBalloons · 31/03/2019 12:26

I am having an amazing mother’s day
Youngest DS (15) made me breakfast and bought me a card. The message he wrote inside made me cry
Older DS (19) said he couldn’t get back this weekend due to work but a present was on its way. Opened the door thinking it was a delivery and it was him
DD (21) is working today but has sent me a beautiful card and present
It’s a lovely day

EmrysAtticus · 31/03/2019 12:26

Enjoying my day too :) Harvester breakfast followed by a bracing walk. Just having DS cuddles while watching Spiderman then DH is taking DS out while I read in bed and eat chocolate :)

winecigsandchoc · 31/03/2019 12:28

I'm having a great day!

TeddyIsaHe · 31/03/2019 12:33

I’m enjoying it too! I’ve had 3 surprise bunches of flowers from dd, actually from my mum, my sister and dd’s godmother who are all lovely and all worry that I won’t get a mother’s day present while dd is young and I’m single. Wonderful surprise.

Mum got dd to make me a card on Friday and it is the cutest, loveliest thing. When dd gave it to me she showed me the snakes she’d drawn (2 lines!) and said “mummy snake, baby snake” which was the cutest thing possible.

redwoodmazza · 31/03/2019 12:35

No I am not.

dreamyflower · 31/03/2019 12:35

Lovely to hear about these nice days. I'm also having a lovely day. DH did night feeds for the baby so I've actually slept. Both boys slept in this morning. DH and toddler went to get me fresh croissants and a coffee from coffee shop in village, got some lovely gifts including a super cute I love mum hungry caterpillar book to read with them. Visited my mum and now boys are napping and I'm having another coffee. DH is cooking tonight and this afternoon we are watching a film together.

S1naidSucks · 31/03/2019 12:40

That’s lovely and I’m genuinely happy for all you lovely mums. I’m sitting in my pjs, my youngest who has SN, has just woken up and after I help her get washed and dressed, we’ll go visit my dear husband’s grave. I still miss him dreadfully but I’m not unhappy because I’m not being pampered on MD, because my children love me and will contact me during the day. If the boys were still and home they would spoil me, but that live away now and that’s ok.

I’d be upset if, like some mums, there was a lazy, selfish husband and thoughtless teens in the house and it was treated like another day. As it is, I miss those I love, but my child and I will have a lovely day together.

Celebelly · 31/03/2019 12:40

I had a lie in and got flowers, chocolates and a card from seven-week-old DD Grin Tonight DP and I are getting fish and chips for tea and watching a film together.

Singlenotsingle · 31/03/2019 12:40

Surprise bunch of flowers from ds1 Shock and off to ds2 and my ddil for lunch later. Grin DP made coffee (he usually does).

Bibijayne · 31/03/2019 12:40

Glad to hear other lovely days! I know it doesn't always work out. And feel for mums who are not having a good time. But very pleased that the little things (plus a few more) I said would be nice are being done.

I have to say one of the nicest things was a bit of extra sleep and a chance to read. DS (7 months) keeps kicking books off my lap/ trying to eat them.

I'm loaded with the cold but apart from that I'm having a good day. DH was going to give me a long lie but told dh i would rather get up and let him sleep on because it was still early and my runny nose was annoying me. Came down stairs and ds1 was up and had made me a card. We cosied and watched a movie. Dh and ds2 then got up and made me brekkie together. Not long ago they also brought me in cupcakes they had made together yesterday. No actual gifts but I didn't want anything, I love the effort and feel lucky to have the family I have x

S1naidSucks · 31/03/2019 12:43

Oh! I forgot to add, my wee dog —Mr shithead— usually has me up at first light and he didn’t waken up until 9 am! The miracle of mother’s day. 😁

Reddragonqueen · 31/03/2019 12:47

Having a lovely day here. A chilled morning in pjs with my girls. Watched a dvd and played with happy land stuff. DD1 drew me a lovely picture

Just had a chocolate hot cross but and we're about to go for a long walk before a lamb dinner at 4ish. Husband had to work as it's the start of lambing time on our farm. We'll pass him on our walk and say Hi

Enjoy ladies

Contraceptionismyfriend · 31/03/2019 12:50

I'm actually having a nice day.
DH is in bed and did offer to get up to do the 2 hours of 9 am sports clubs with the 5 and 2 yo but after working last night he looked like ten walking dead.
So I sent him back took them to the clubs and am now in soft play. They are happy I've just had a massive milkshake and am rather chilled. I'm no planning on going home to eat some cake I've got stored.

vampirethriller · 31/03/2019 12:54

I think it's the happiest day I've had for a long time! It's just me, 4 month old baby and the dog. We've been a walk and to the shops for chocolates, my brothers sent me flowers from the baby and my sisters sent me cards from the dog! It's lovely.

S1naidSucks · 31/03/2019 12:56

Aww vampirethriller, your brother and sister sound wonderful.

ChubbyMummy12 · 31/03/2019 13:01

I am too! I had a lovely fry up cooked for me by DH, got a lovely little potted flower and. A big box of chocolates, DH has done the cleaning and the washing, he's entertaining the kids while I'm laying in bed with my chocolates watching the Madeline McCann documentary. There's been no screaming or arguing from the kids either. Lovely day!

Iggly · 31/03/2019 13:02

Ah these days all sound lovely! My day is the same as usual really, just had some nice cards from the kids.

As they get older and can actually organise Mother’s day themselves then I’m sure we will have wonderful times! But for now, while it requires dh to pull his finger out, my expectations remain low 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Mintypea5 · 31/03/2019 13:02

Lovely day here. DH got up with baby about 5 so I got a lovely lie in. Having roast at MiL with lovely family

After DS1 gets home from his dads will have yummy dinner of sausage and pasta (one of those weird meals I love but Never make because its a guilty pleasure). DH tells me there is a card but he's waiting for DS1 to be home so we can all be together.

Only downside is MiL keeps offering me wine which I can't have as I'm 7/8 weeks pregnant and we're not telling yet Grin
