Flowers from DH. He took baby boy for a few hours to let me nap, then entertained him so I could drink a hot cup of coffee and read my book. We all just went and had a nice late breakfast in local pub. Walked the dog and off to afternoon tea with my parents and sister later today.

Any one else having a good time?

I am, I had a poached egg on toast & Nutella on toast in bed for breakfast, lots of homemade cards/presents from DD, lunch at IL's & seeing my mum later.

A nice relaxed day!

bertiesgal · 31/03/2019 13:09

Reported, there's no way this is real 😂.

Only joking OP, lovely post, have a wonderful day Flowers.

fleshmarketclose · 31/03/2019 13:16

I'm enjoying it too. Ds called in with a Starbucks and assembled the blanket box I had bought and they are all coming here later for a takeaway and will bring cards and flowers then and dd1 sent me a clip of her baby kicking which is the first time his movements have been visible so really precious. Feeling pretty lucky and blessed today.

minionsrule · 31/03/2019 13:25

This year i've realised my ds is the lovely mature young man i hoped he would be.
Ok he is 13 and i know kids younger sort out MD themselves sometimes but usually dh along with ds sorts it out.
This year ds said he wanted to buy my fave chocs for me and he wanted to use his own money to buy them. ... to be honest that meant more to me than the gift itself Smile.
Oh and i came downstairs this morning to find he had gone round and changed all the clocks to add an hour on

MsHybridFanGirl · 31/03/2019 13:27

I'm a single parent to DD (13) and woke up to my room filled with balloons, two cards (one from our new puppy!), flowers, teddy and lots of little gifts in a big bag. She also baked cupcakes for me and made me fried eggs on toast for breakfast in bed.
She has a little Saturday job and has saved her wages for this; she said "I love you so much Mum, happy Mother's Day" and she also straightened and styled my hair (she is a budding stylist already) as we are going out for dinner later with family.
Couldn't have asked for anything more, the effort she has put into it has been so wonderful. X

This is the nicest day I've had in ages! It's my first mother's day and I'm marinating in Clarins on the sofa in my pjs with my 3 month old asleep on my chest. DH popped out to get me lunch.

So lovely to read everyone else's happy days 💖

Elletine · 31/03/2019 13:32

@MsHybrid that's soooooo lovely!!! What a fantastic DD you have!!!! X

runningtogetskinny · 31/03/2019 13:34

I'm on holiday and my DD is back in UK taking my DM out for afternoon tea. I'm proud she arranged this herself when she realised I was away and wanted her Gran to still have a special day. So yes, I'm having a great Mother's Day by the pool and feeling very happy about the young woman my daughter has grown up to be

Danni91 · 31/03/2019 13:34

Got a lie in, other half took kids to the shop to get bagels and eggs for breakfast, yummy!
Beautiful bunch of flowers, card and a big bottle of vodka. Big cuddles from the children and no cleaning or cooking for me to do today.
Perfect timing for a chill day with the kids as maternity leave ends next week!

On the other hand I gave my mum a gift and got no thank you, although my sister did get a public facebook thank you for her gift. She also hasnt bothered to respond to my happy mothers day text either.
Swings and roundabouts!

Grosserygangrule · 31/03/2019 13:35

Having a lovely day, ds woke me at 7 (6 really) and gave me big cuddles and went off to get presents he’d picked me. Then dh went out to get breakfast, he’s at work now so just me and ds for a day of films then off out for a walk this afternoon

CottonSock · 31/03/2019 13:48

My dh baked pan o chocolats and they were raw. Orange juice spilled in bed. Homemade tat from kids that I'm going to have to treasure. They picked me dandelions and other weeds. It is lovely, they are 2 and 5 and it won't be so cute forever. My dd1 has been excited for weeks.

The past 2 have been a huge letdown but am really happy that DH has got himself and our 2yo organised this year. Had pancakes for breakfast (no washing up!), a lovely insect hotel as a gift, a teapot card from nursery and I will have time this evening to pamper myself in the bath Smile

AndOfCourseHenryTheHorse · 31/03/2019 14:06

Yanbu. I’m having a lovely day too Smile.

Like a lot of people, I am missing my mum today, as she passed away a few years ago.

But I’m still having a very lovely day.

The baby’s napping. Dh has take dc1 out shopping. Dc1 and I went swimming earlier. I’m reading my book and mumsnetting and about to have a bath.

This morning I was given a lovely present ‘from dcs’, (but organised and paid for by dh really, as dcs are very little). We had a lovely breakfast and dh is making dinner for us all later.

Yanbu!

Arrowfanatic · 31/03/2019 14:18

I'm having a lovely day. I got up before DH as i had to get DD10, DD6 & myself out for karate just after 9am.

DH picked the girls up at 10.30am after their lesson so i could concentrate on the high grade lesson as i have a grading next weekend.

Got home, dh & DD6 made lunch, i got cards from all 3 children, I'm drinking wine, eating chocolate. Sil is coming over later, its her first mothers day but her OH is working.

Having a takeaway later Grin

Shangrilalala · 31/03/2019 14:22

Mine is predictably shitty but I’m taking great solace from the lovely days others of you are having. Genuinely glad that you’re enjoying yourselves 😊

peoplepleaser1 · 31/03/2019 14:22

I'm not having the best day TBH, but I'm remembering that it's only a day and it will pass.

It's really nice to read about all your lovely days. It's especially heartwarming to hear so many people having a simple day and really appreciating it.

Maybe next week I will have a simple and lovely day.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 31/03/2019 14:26

I've had a lovely lunch in a fish restaurant with dh,ds and parents

mamaduckbone · 31/03/2019 14:27

I've watched a football and a rugby match this morning in the freezing cold, but I had coffee in bed and ds1 made me scrambled egg for breakfast so all good here. Smile

Vargas · 31/03/2019 14:31

I haven't always had great MD but today lovely so far. Cards and flowers from kids, nice lunch out and friends coming round for games and supper later. Chilling on sofa now while DH tidies kitchen.

To those not having a good one, I've been there, next year will be better Thanks!!

bunchoftulipsanddaffs · 31/03/2019 14:36

In the conservatory (bit chilly outside) with my mum drinking tea and looking forward to Sunday dinner (being cooked by DH and DC as we speak).

Samind · 31/03/2019 14:40

@mshybridfangirl- I got very teary eyed reading that!!

dancemom · 31/03/2019 14:49

Meeee!
Dd woke me up with a card and several gifts. She then came with me to the gym and we are just back from having lunch together. I'm now back in bed eating the chocolates she got me and going to have a nap.

Perfect day!

EvaHarknessRose · 31/03/2019 14:57

My mum liked her present. Dd2 has been left in charge by dd1 who is away but had written her card. She delivered flowers coffee chocolates and croissants this morning. Otherwise a totally normal day clearing the clutter and preparing dinner, all good here. Can’t wait to see dd1.

hammeringinmyhead · 31/03/2019 15:09

YANBU. My first one as my DS is 5 months old. "He" got me a card, Hotel Chocolat and a bath bomb. DH took me for breakfast and DS is now sleeping on my lap. Bliss.

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 31/03/2019 15:14

*we're about to go for a long walk before a lamb dinner at 4ish. Husband had to work as it's the start of lambing time on our farm."

Sorry - this made me laugh!
