Ombré eyebrows- I'm old now aren't I?

Idly looking on Facebook I cane across a page advertising an ombré eyebrows page. Basically pages and pages of people praising women who looked like they’d had their eyebrows drawn on with a whiteboard marker and a pantomime baddy stencil...:

www.google.co.uk/search?q=ombre+eyebrows&client=safari&hl=en-gb&prmd=isvn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiT-JCy-OHgAhUPCxoKHRg6DSkQ_AUoAXoECA0QAQ&biw=375&bih=628&dpr=2

All the women featured are clearly very attractive, but the marker pen eyebrow look is unnerving.

Is this fashion?

Am I suddenly the older generation???

Nah that's just the work of a shit eyebrow tech. Done well it can look marvellous.

Cheetahssitonfajitas · 01/03/2019 22:10

Actually, all the ones on that link look horrible to me! Maybe it's 'ombre brows' in general that look shit then. Maybe this means I am also old.

JuniperGins · 01/03/2019 22:11

It seems deliberate, their are clearly women travelling to this person and a successful business

I love it! Definitely looks better when wearing full make up and without the redness/darkness of just done eyebrows.

I’m going to take your post as a compliment that I must still be young ?!!! Grin

Meandwinealone · 01/03/2019 22:12

You know what’s going to happen
It’s going to be super trendy to have 90s thin eyebrows again soon
And then we will be trendy once more!!

user1473878824 · 01/03/2019 22:12

I want her before eyebrows! I hate the bad eyebrow trend with big square starts and vertical hairs.

JuniperGins · 01/03/2019 22:15

Her before eyebrows are like a lighter version of mine! I was pleased with them....

It seems a really odd fashion to me, the drawn in block look. I have younger friends who are very pretty but I end up staring at their evil villain brows too much

OP posts:
Princessmushroom · 01/03/2019 22:16

To be honest she will lose around 50% of that colour as they heal and look amazing!

Merename · 01/03/2019 22:21

I’m defo old. They look completely ridiculous. I’m with you on evil villain brows!

GrandmaSharksDentures · 01/03/2019 22:23

Ok, I'm definitely old. But how do eyebrows need to "heal" after this treatment? What happens to them?

What happens if fashions change?

FancyPantsMcGhee · 01/03/2019 22:28

Her before eyebrows were perfectly lovely!

As PP have asked what needs to heal? And how are they ombre? They look all the same colour to me except the light bit closest the nose that looks like they've forgotten to do it.

RockyFlintstone · 01/03/2019 22:30

It's not the 'ombre' bit that's the problem here, (it's much better to have a bit of a fade at the start of the brow, I think it looks more natural) its the micoblading. I don't like micoblading, I think it always just looks so fake. However, that girl a) has only just had them done so they will fade a bit and b) doesn't have any other make up on so they look very harsh. Actually this is partly why I don't like micoblading because you do have to wear makeup all the time otherwise they look silly.

Houseonahill · 01/03/2019 22:31

Eyebrows shouldn't be square!

SwimmingJustKeepSwimming · 01/03/2019 22:31

Def prefer her before picture. To the extent Im amazed anyone would like the after one!

Notcontent · 01/03/2019 22:34

Well, I don’t know anyone in real life with that look. This is London, but I think the people I work with, including the younger women, prefer a slightly more “subtle” look...

Cla9 · 01/03/2019 22:35

I don’t think that’s a good example as the girl had nice eyebrows before!
Mine are practically nonexistent and I’d love something done to them.

GabsAlot · 01/03/2019 22:36

i think they looked ridiculous-i remember a couple of years ago my much younger dsis started colouring n her eyebrows they lookd like slugs

Thisaintphaedra · 01/03/2019 22:36

Fancy that’s the ombré the lighter part near nose going darker. Probably not the best example!

Micro blading eyebrows means they start off v dark and then lighten up and get topped up to the desired effect .

Some make up geniuses can mimic this ombré effect with make up. I’m jealous. I’m feeling so so young !!! Grin

AmICrazyorWhat2 · 01/03/2019 22:38

Yeah, we're old Grin.

DD (13) has been experimenting with the drawn in block look and I don't like it, but she does. I'm sticking with my usual brow style - not ultra thin, but tidy looking. Don't care if they're old-fashioned!

AugustRose · 01/03/2019 22:49

I think they look awful, the before pic is much nicer. I must be old too because it seems that every young women in my town has them and it looks ridiculous - they ALL look the same, with the same hair and face.

And drag queens.

CardiganB · 01/03/2019 22:58

More hombre, than ombre, if you ask me.

Switsy · 01/03/2019 22:59

Most probably. I think there was a Vogue cover a few months ago with Rihanna sporting super thin 30s/90s brows. But I think it will be a while, big brows are big business at the moment and people will be slow to let them go.
