Ombré eyebrows- I'm old now aren't I?

Idly looking on Facebook I cane across a page advertising an ombré eyebrows page. Basically pages and pages of people praising women who looked like they’d had their eyebrows drawn on with a whiteboard marker and a pantomime baddy stencil...:

www.google.co.uk/search?q=ombre+eyebrows&client=safari&hl=en-gb&prmd=isvn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiT-JCy-OHgAhUPCxoKHRg6DSkQ_AUoAXoECA0QAQ&biw=375&bih=628&dpr=2

All the women featured are clearly very attractive, but the marker pen eyebrow look is unnerving.

Is this fashion?

Am I suddenly the older generation???

The before brows are so much nicer! I am old Grin

Mine are naturally quite thick so I'm glad thicker is on trend now - less plucking needed!

Switsy · 01/03/2019 23:01

the girl in the OP's pic had perfect natural brows.

TitsAndTomatoes · 01/03/2019 23:01

Ah.
Her before brows are so much nicer! After loojs awful! Maybe cuz they fresh so look too dark...

This reminds me of when i shaved my brows off back in 2005 as they grew in 2 different shapes, so i started to draw them on.
They looked like an even worse version of this womans 'after' pic.
I went on a date with a guy to the cinema and after some snogging and canoodling, he went to the loo before we got back in his car and came out looking confused. I asked him what was up and he said 'i had loads of black stuff all over my face... oh look, think i smudged it onto yours too while kissing you..'
Yes. His face was covered in my brows. Which then transferred from his face and onto mine....
Blush

Pinkbells · 01/03/2019 23:02

It's not a good look, nothing to do with age. They're so dark and blocky that they just leap out at you, detracting from the rest of the face.

Just casually decided to shave your eyebrows off one day? Grin

ScrambledSmegs · 01/03/2019 23:09

I saw some teenage girls today with brows like the 'after' pic. Their faces were completely dominated by their brows, I can't really remember what they looked like apart from BROWS.

I'm definitely old.

MovingThisYearDefinitely · 01/03/2019 23:10

They look utterly ridiculous. Hmm Hopefully this so-called "fashion" is short lived! Grin

TellerTuesday4EVA · 01/03/2019 23:26

Its a trend that I cannot wait to end. I'm normally a sucker for a fad but u refuse to be drawn (no pun intended) into this one. Eyebrows should be actual hair no??

Firsttimekittenowner · 01/03/2019 23:32

They need to heal because they're either tattooed on or microbladed (like a tattoo but with a small blade instead of needles).
The colour does fade a lot and they look a lot better.

FizzyGreenWater · 01/03/2019 23:33

But there are women travelling far to find this woman and submit to the felt penning. They flock over hill and dale. So she must be The One! It's just us, we're too old.

FizzyGreenWater · 01/03/2019 23:34

It's hysterical though. 'I love it!' they squeal, as Ming The Merciless stares back through the salon mirror Grin

FizzyGreenWater · 01/03/2019 23:37

Now THESE are what I call eyebrows. Get a load of these winged beauties Grin

'Wrongfully convicted'... sadly on the evidence presented so far I am leaning towards probably quite rightfully convicted, if only for crimes against personal grooming.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 01/03/2019 23:43

Cackling at hombre and pantomime villain brows!

In 5-10 years (if not sooner) I bet everyone's going to look back at these like, 'what were we thinking?!'

notanothernam · 01/03/2019 23:53

Totally with you, 30, so not sure if that qualifies me as old in this context but only girls I've seen with eyebrows like this in real life work on make up counters. And still look ridiculous IMO (I'm sure they think the same of my over plucked 2000s brows!)

Cranky17 · 01/03/2019 23:57

A bit like these... you’re not the only one getting old

LittleDoritt · 02/03/2019 00:01

Big brows look mad to me. I'm so old. We call them Dolmio brows in our house.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 02/03/2019 00:04

Lol Cranky

I don't do anything with my brows other than lightly plucking and shaping them.

I've experimented with various brow powders, pencils, waxes and kits. They just end up looking drawn on however light my touch is and whatever palette I select. Blonde is too light and brunette is very obviously gingery brown Confused I have medium brown hair.

I daren't get a salon version as I don't wear a lot of make up and they'd stick out a mile. I'd end up wearing plasters over them Grin

It's just a matter of time before one big rectangle eyebrow, the giant black unibrow, becomes fashionable and dopey girls will be sporting them.

Mummyoflittledragon · 02/03/2019 00:33

I think the look is for the very young. Older teens and very early 20’s. Don’t like it myself.

ImFineThankYouSusan · 02/03/2019 00:46

As someone with near enough no brows atm, I'm super jealous of her before brows Envy

After brows look ridiculous, however.

ethelfleda · 02/03/2019 00:52

I think they look fucking awful. I’m mid 30s - am I too old??
I came on the thread expecting you to be asking us if you’re too old to get these eyebrows yourself!

ThatsNotIt · 02/03/2019 00:59

@CardiganB More hombre, than ombre, if you ask me.

Oh my god howlin I just weed a little!!!

StillMedusa · 02/03/2019 01:06

Personally I'm just grateful if mine don't meet in the middle!!! Plus plucking out the white (what the FUCK is that about?) ones!

I hate the lego eyebrow trend. DD2 had a phase of painted on blocks but has thankfully grown out of it!

I'm old.....
