I know that emails are sent out on Friday but does anybody know what time offers are published online? Is it midnight Thursday/Friday like primary school offers were?

Midnight Thursday you can log in to your account and see your offer. Orherwise an email usually arrives during the morning of Friday.

Dontgiveamonkeys1350 · 26/02/2019 20:44

When we got my sons. The email popped up on my phone the day before. Totally threw me.

Katebob22 · 26/02/2019 20:44

Thanks, that’s what I wondered but couldn’t find out online.

Ours (London borough) were published online around 4.30pm on the day. Email arrived after 7pm

Ratatouille76 · 26/02/2019 20:54

God I'm so nervous about this. My daughter doesn't want to leave her primary school.

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 26/02/2019 20:55

It varies from LA to LA. Some are just after midnight, some are after 5pm.

meditrina · 26/02/2019 20:57

It depends where you are, as LEAs' policies vary.

The pan-London/Surrey system says the website goes live at 5pm (but in practice it is get-at-able n the run up to that time) and the emails go out in batches starting at 5pm-ish, so people should get them in the course of the evening.

Other places release info much earlier in the day

madeyemoodysmum · 26/02/2019 20:59

I had my dds at 3pm on the Friday 2 yrs ago
Herts

namechangedyetagain · 26/02/2019 20:59

We can log in from 7am here then we'll also get a letter posted that day.

TeenTimesTwo · 26/02/2019 21:00

It depends where you are.

Don't forget to accept the offered school even if you hate it. (Unless you have a private option or will HE).

Blackcelebration73 · 26/02/2019 21:02

@ratatoille i’m nervous too- I feel a bit sick about it

Ratatouille76 · 26/02/2019 21:05

Horrible isn't it. Why do they have to grow up.

QueenofLouisiana · 26/02/2019 21:07

Just after midnight here in Suffolk

RoseAndRose · 26/02/2019 21:09

"Why do they have to grow up."

Because the only alternative is grim

Cuddlysnowleopard · 26/02/2019 21:11

Depends on which LA. Ours (Herts) arrives around school pickup time.

Ratatouille76 · 26/02/2019 21:14

That is true Rose. Not sure I could live with a stroppy 11 year old indefinitely.

Katebob22 · 26/02/2019 21:23

Thanks all, just want to find out now.

Anyone know what time Oxfordshire sends out the email?

reluctantbrit · 27/02/2019 12:21

Ratatouille - starting secondary was the best thing happening for DD. The lat 2 years of primary were a disaster. We now have a happy DD again, learning, moving up on targets instead of just shuffling along and learning so much more.

Dothehappydance · 27/02/2019 12:28

Don't forget to accept the offered school even if you hate it.

Check your area, some areas you have to actually accept the offer, others you accept by default.

Newsername · 27/02/2019 12:28

Twilight the offers are online at 12am. At least they were for primary school allocations last year, so hoping the same for secondary. Emails for primary were sent around 3 am.

I really hope this is the same for my dd. Year 4,5 and now 6 have been a major headache learning and friendship wise.

twilightcafe · 27/02/2019 12:50

Thank you, newsername

Ratatouille76 · 27/02/2019 16:16

Thank you relunctant brit

Gazelda · 27/02/2019 16:20

Hertfordshire county council are saying that the email goes out in the afternoon and the online won't be updated until all emails have been sent. They also warn that it can take some time (hours) for the email to travel between HCC and the recipient.
