Katebob22 · 26/02/2019 20:39

I know that emails are sent out on Friday but does anybody know what time offers are published online? Is it midnight Thursday/Friday like primary school offers were?

For my youngest two (in 2018 and 2015) the actual email didn't come into my inbox until between 2am and 4am on offer day, however both times I'd stayed up late the night before, logged on to the portal at about 11.45 and kept refreshing the page. Around 2 minutes to midnight both times, the status changed to "place offered" and I could then click through and view the result.
With my eldest in 2011, my council was one of the few to still use paper application forms and send results by letter. It was excruciating waiting that extra day, when friends on Facebook in different LA's had their results electronically on the day. Thank goodness mine moved with the times eventually!!!

BitchPeas · 27/02/2019 16:42

Does anyone know about Brighton and Hove? I’ve heard the emails come out around lunch time and you can’t log on to check before.

Candace19 · 27/02/2019 17:51

Staffordshire are from midnight and you don't have to accept.

Cuddlysnowleopard · 27/02/2019 18:19

For those of you waiting for SW Herts consortium places, they often release the lowest score data first. I knew that DS1 had a place at his first choice a good 30 mins before the email, because I knew he scored above the lowest score.

I actually got the email for DS1 at 3.07pm, and DS2 (last year) at 2.04pm.

Good luck everyone waiting.

Rockbird · 27/02/2019 18:21

Surrey here. I'm assuming that it'll be 5pm plus.

WeMarchOn · 27/02/2019 18:24

I'm really really nervous about it as I put 2 choices down and she really wants to go to the 1st choice, she will be so upset if she doesn't get in 😞

LIZS · 27/02/2019 18:34

Depends where you are - some areas post online in early hours , others not until 5pm.

Mog37 · 28/02/2019 10:38

@Candace19. Thanks for posting re Staffordshire. (We're also waiting for Staffs results.) Looks like I'm sitting up until midnight then!

LiftedHigh · 28/02/2019 11:03

Grin Grin
Ooo I'm excitedly waiting! I really hope i can see the result online on the portal, rather than wait for email.
Only started thinking about it when there was two weeks to go. Now its tomorrow i can't stop looking at the clock! Before then it honestly never really crossed my mind much.

Gooooood luck everyone!!!

twilightcafe · 28/02/2019 11:34

Good luck everyone!

I swing between quiet confidence and blind terror. I hope to be put out of my misery in the early hours. Not sure my nerves can take a late-afternoon email.

Katebob22 · 28/02/2019 11:42

I feel awful. I want choice one my dd wants choice two. Somebody will be unhappy either way!

professionallurker · 28/02/2019 11:45

@cuddly where did you find the lowest score info please?

BarkandCheese · 28/02/2019 11:48

Even though we live 0.3 miles from our first choice and it’s a non super selective single sex grammar which cuts down the number of children eligible to apply dramatically, I’m still nervous. Good luck for tomorrow everyone.

Ratatouille76 · 28/02/2019 11:53

Very nervous here. Apparently in our area letters have been received today if you didn't get your first choice.

lanternlady · 28/02/2019 12:17

Also very very nervous here , just so desperate to know , it's been such a long time to wait.
Really want my dc to go to the first choice it's a faith school and apparently his primary is a feeder into the secondary but there is of course no guarantee for anything .
Do feeder schools even really exist now ?
Also how do they choose , does the list of pupils go to the faith secondary and then they choose ? Or do the LA make all the decisions ??
I'm tying myself up in knots over it all with all the questions and ifs buts and maybes .
It's gonna be a very long wait now it's so close

firawla · 28/02/2019 12:24

Our borough info said we can log into the website from 5pm, but I might try at midnight just in case. I actually thought it was the end of the month we find out! Then ds mentioned yesterday that it’s actually on Friday - good job he told me!! Good luck to all waiting for places

Hersetta427 · 28/02/2019 12:59

Our herts email came at 2.15 last year (caught me by surprise as I was expecting it to come around 3pm).

London Boroughs are strictly after 5pm - nothing before.

LiftedHigh · 28/02/2019 13:21

@twilightcafe exactly! Yes please! I'm hoping for early hours, absolutely will be on edge if have to wait additionally to the afternoon. 12 hours, at least, to go. Grin

namechangedyetagain · 28/02/2019 17:34

So despite me telling Ds not to worry as we can't control what happens next I find myself feeling really nervous. He seems so stressed which I'm finding odd as he took the exam in his stride. I guess that to find out about the school place will be the culmination of his hard work. Out of our hands. We should be able to find out before school tomorrow.

SunburstsOrMarbleHalls · 28/02/2019 18:03

Wirral LEA sends emails in batches throughout the morning, I received DS's offer 5 years ago at 09.01am on 1st March.

MirandaWest · 28/02/2019 18:11

I got emails in the morning in York for DS 4 years ago and DD 2 years ago. 9:38 for DS and 9:03 for DD

Wigeon · 28/02/2019 18:26

@cuddlysnowleopard - yes, where are the SW Herts Consortium minimum scores actually published tomorrow? On each individual school website, given that’s where the historic scores are (I don’t think there’s anything official which compiles all the schools’ scores). The consortium’s own website is all about next year’s test.

Wigeon · 28/02/2019 18:41

Oh, another question for anyone: DD potentially qualifies under three rules for one school and two rules for another school. Can you find out which rule your DC had been admitted under?

Jezzifishie · 28/02/2019 19:32

I think Coventry is midnight, if anyone needs it! (I'm waiting for Primary, feels like it's taking forever...)

Katebob22 · 28/02/2019 19:38

So the people who got emails, did you not have it showing on your online account earlier?
