It’s a National Non-Emergency: Trump thread 91

Here we are in February 2019 - Trump has declared a National Emergency to funnel the funds for his border wall, he’s just come off a ridiculous SOTU that contained more lies than not, and he’s just tweeted this:

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump 2h2 hours ago
More
“These guys, the investigators, ought to be in jail. What they have done, working with the Obama intelligence agencies, is simply unprecedented. This is one of the greatest political hoaxes ever perpetrated on the people of this Country, and Mueller is a coverup.” Rush Limbaugh

But here’s a reminder he’s not one of the sharpest tools in the box.

Hello! My husband, who reads the Daily Fail on line for his morning amusement (before going on to real papers, lest there be doubt), says he has reliable information from his perusal of the news, that were there to be an election in the US today, Trump would win with a landslide, and by even more in 2020. (To be fair, I'm not sure if he got this from the DF or somewhere which deals in true facts, not fake news.) What do you think, my friends? Should I just shut myself off from the real world now, rather than getting more and more depressed? What with this and Brexit, and the rise in the right wing ideology behind it all, I see no hope for my daughter's future. Does anyone here have a more positive outlook? Pretty please with a cherry on top?

Like this?

www.politico.com/story/2019/03/21/trump-economy-election-1230495

"For the economic models to be correct, voters would have to shrug off much of what they dislike about Trump and decide the strength of the economy makes a change unwise"

The key message is that even at this stage well tested models may well not apply, and in this case it might well not be in his favour.

Yeah, I have a lot of days when I share your despondence, Dumdedumdedum.

Then I remember my grandfathers and their brothers and sisters, and think, "If they'd given up before they started, the Nazis would have won. At least I probably won't be required to undergo the physical hardships they did in the fight."

You know what, some of them died. But their children, and grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and now great-great-grandchildren, are here on this earth living their lives – many of them doing good work to support others and build a fair and just world.

We can't all keep up the fight every single day – I know I can't – but we can rest and come back to it.

'"One time, after a bad drive, Trump slammed his driver back in his bag, as guys will do, and wasn’t really watching what he was doing, and the driver ricocheted back and hit Trump in the head. 'A.J.?'Trump asked, pissed. 'Did you just hit me in the head with my own driver?'

'Sir, Mr. Trump, why would I do that?' A.J. said. 'You’re my president!''

Assange looks like he might be in a tight spot right now.

My son has heard the same about Assange. He has a friend who is a producer for a show on CNN and apparently they're chasing tails unable to verify anything
