Here we are in February 2019 - Trump has declared a National Emergency to funnel the funds for his border wall, he’s just come off a ridiculous SOTU that contained more lies than not, and he’s just tweeted this:

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump 2h2 hours ago
More
“These guys, the investigators, ought to be in jail. What they have done, working with the Obama intelligence agencies, is simply unprecedented. This is one of the greatest political hoaxes ever perpetrated on the people of this Country, and Mueller is a coverup.” Rush Limbaugh

But here’s a reminder he’s not one of the sharpest tools in the box.

Interesting sidebar piece on George and Kelly Anne - Number 3 of lion's links if I recall?

Number 2. Blush

Trump does tick all the boxes Conway cites ...

Lots of very different opinions on what is going on in relation to the Conways (from the possibility it is all staged so they can capitalise on the spectacle later on) to George is an honest, decent patriot ...

Trump on John McCain: "I gave him the kind of funeral that he wanted, which as president I had to approve. I don't care about this. I didn’t get thank you. That's ok. We sent him on the way, but I wasn't a fan of John McCain."

Shock
yolofish · 20/03/2019 21:05

been too despairing about Brexshit and real life shit to catch up on here, but lionheart the quote about John McCain just sums up the Trumpscumminess.

One of the CNN links led me to this on the sidebar just now. What is he even trying to talk about?! #wordsaladHmm

AcrossthePond55 · 21/03/2019 00:36

BBC link re: Lion's post on Scrotus taking credit for Sen McCain's funeral. Not only deeply insulting, but also an out and out lie, implying he had to 'give permission'. Fucking Bawbag! He's one of the best arguments for abortion I can think of.

AcrossthePond55 · 21/03/2019 00:38

Sorry if the abortion comment offends anyone. I am just so fucking furious.

Lately, his shit has really been getting to me. Luckily, in just a few weeks we're hitting the road for 2 months. We're going to try to leave the bullshit behind.

PerkingFaintly · 21/03/2019 11:26

I have to say that even Colbert's humour doesn't seem enough these days.

AcrossthePond55 · 21/03/2019 13:00

I have to say that even Colbert's humour doesn't seem enough these days

I think that's it. It's been over two years of this circus and I guess my sense of the absurd is running out of petrol.

I know and understand that the Mueller investigation is a marathon not a sprint but I think many of us optimistically expected that the 'smoking gun' would have been found by now, or at least we'd be getting a glimpse of it in the distance. And now many of us (including me) fear that it will never be found. I have no doubt that one exists. But people like Scrotus are very good at putting layer upon layer upon layer of people between themselves and actual proof of their wrongdoings.

I find myself singing "It's a Long Way to Tipperary 2020" with my own lyrics. Perihelion will be pleased to know that those lyrics contain the words bawbag, bellend, wanker, and cunt. Repeatedly.

I've been following (as best I can) the Brexit debacle. At this point I have to admit to a bit of confusion. It's supposed to happen this month and now it's not happening this month because....I don't know why. I know TPTB want to delay (why?), but doesn't the EU have anything to say about this? Can't they just say "Nope, you wanted out, so you're out. Notice is up, you're evicted!"?

cozietoesie · 21/03/2019 13:27

Oh you optimist, Across. Grin

PerkingFaintly · 21/03/2019 13:31

"Nope, you wanted out, so you're out. Notice is up, you're evicted!"?

They may say that very thing today.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-47648565

How the day will unfold (timings are approximate):

13:00 GMT - Theresa May arrives in Brussels
14:30 GMT - Mrs May will make a short speech to the 27 EU leaders, making the case for a delay to Brexit
The PM will then leave the room while the EU leaders decide whether to grant the UK's request and discuss other Brexit options
18:00 GMT - Press conference by European Council President Donald Tusk and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker. Mrs May is also expected to make a statement
18:30 GMT - Working dinner

PerkingFaintly · 21/03/2019 13:34

Lweji, that's kind of you, given how our government has been treating EU citizens, and how some Brits have been behaving.Sad

Thanks.Thanks
