Seriously AIBU I'd heard quiet whispers about hot flushes, seen secret nods about forgetfulness even probably raised my own once lovely often overplucked brows at the idiosyncrasies of older women I knew but why didn't any tell me about this? I can't leave the house until I've reapplied my bloody eyebrows between the bald patches and the white ones they've all but disappeared! My hair has hardly any grey, I'm fighting the weight gain, coping with the night sweats but for the love of God I need eyebrows.

No advice OP but if it makes you feel better this made me laugh Smile

Birdsgottafly · 13/02/2019 11:32

It's very much talked about.

On every thread were eyebrow tattooing is ridiculed, I remind the posters that one day it may be an option they decide on.

I've had mine done, not too dark and they look natural.

I was told by a Woman from India that they rub any oil rich in Vitamin E into theirs.

EvaHarknessRose · 13/02/2019 11:33

Yes but have you noticed the hair relocates to the weirdest places where you never grew hair before?

Birdsgottafly · 13/02/2019 11:33

Thays why I hate the piss taking of older Women who people assume have over plucked their brows, when they've probably lost them.

WTFIsAGleepglorp · 13/02/2019 11:34

Awww. Sorry to hear that OP.

I have the opposite problem. I'm transing into a man.

I've got nose hair slowly creeping out of my nostrils, I have to shave before I apply a plaster to my feet and my whitening eyebrows are growing out of control.

InfiniteSheldon · 13/02/2019 11:36

Oh dear Gleep just checked my feet and apparently my toes think.I'm a troll Grin

I did look at getting eyebrow tattoo/microblading but joyfully i have so many white ones they would sit on top of the tats and still need brushing in!

My thyroid took the outer thirds of my eyebrows and then menopause decided to leave bald patches in what was left. But I do now have hair growing up my stomach Hmm

Disfordarkchocolate · 13/02/2019 11:54

Well, I hardly have any eyebrows now so the next 10 years are going to be fun. I don't normally wear makeup so the thought of someone tattooing me some new eyebrows is terrifying. I shall wear weird clothes to distract people from my lack of eyebrows.

Threewheeler1 · 13/02/2019 12:00

I now have strange elbow hairs, long pube type ones, but my hairline is receding so I look like an angry boiled egg.
The joys are endless and the end is not yet in sight.
My older sisters have come through the other side so have given me a delightful list of what's next. I'm not sure I want to know.
But you're right OP, I didn't feel prepared or informed for all the little details - which bits would pucker up, drop off, keep growing (hello what was once my waist and knees)...
It's the lifeless quality of my skin that amazes me. Feels like overnight it became crepey and my neck grew a frill which gets caught on my collar...

Not sure if I'm allowed to recommend stuff but I've been taking a supplement for 5 months called Viviscal, which seems to be encouraging new hair growth.
The hair loss was getting to me more than anything else. Got baby hairs coming around my hairline and my eyebrows/eyelashes are definitely looking better. It's expensive but it's working. Haven't experienced any side effects either.

userschmoozer · 13/02/2019 12:07

Does this explain why I now have a widows peak?

MrsTommyBanks · 13/02/2019 12:09

My eyebrows have relocated to my chin and started a commune.

fluffiphlox · 13/02/2019 12:11

I know. I have to colour mine in too. Ah well.

InfiniteSheldon · 13/02/2019 12:23

cluster commune on my chin. painfully funny Grin

user
That's exactly where mine's headed. My hair had always been straight across the top of my forehead, then I noticed a couple of channels opening up on the top sides, just like my brothers Sad, sort of like the path of a melting glacier Grin
I also get weird long thin white hairs randomly appearing overnight on ear lobes, cheeks etc, easily spotted in sunlight but otherwise invisible to the owner. I've always been hairy on my face but it's a whole new level these days.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 13/02/2019 12:28

My eyebrows have relocated to various areas of my lower face. Uninvited.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 13/02/2019 12:28

My eyebrows have relocated to my chin and started a commune.

Thank you for the laugh.

(I winced in recognition.)

You weren’t kidding about it being expensive Threewheeler £51 for 60 tablets Shock

cherrytree63 · 13/02/2019 12:32

My eyebrows are now on my big toes and inner thighs. And I have been searching for my top lip for ages now, it isn't in the fridge with the remote control, or in the bathroom with my (now cold cup of tea) or in the recycling bin with my purse.

Bluelady · 13/02/2019 12:36

My already overplucked eyebrows have completely gone. I've become very adept at creating new ones with the best pencil money can buy (Suqqu if that's helps). Mine have also migrated to my chin. It all sucks.

userschmoozer · 13/02/2019 12:37

sort of like the path of a melting glacier omfg thats exactly right. Give it a couple of years and I'll be able to pass myself off as Dave Vanian Grin

MrsBodger · 13/02/2019 12:43

Oh God I had such fabulous eyebrows once. Now they sprout off at weird angles (what’s left of them) - impossible to control. Adding insult to injury I am spottier than I ever was in my teens. And I smell funny.

Sobs

Oxytocindeficient · 13/02/2019 12:45

Just make sure you’ve had proper thyroid tests, as under active thyroid causes eyebrow thinning- usually seen as outer edges disappearing. It can be hard to get a full thyroid panel on the NHS though.
