To think this is really unhygienic ?!

To think you don’t bloody sneeze in public?Probably get flamed for this but I absolutely detest people sneezing openly in public. It spreads germs and it’s NOT THAT HARD to internally sneeze as in like hold yourself back when you sneeze!

What about you hygiene pet peeves?

Another one is LICKING THE SUPERMARKET BAGS....why?! Why would I want you to slurp on your finger and then use your saliva to lubricate my bag and then continue to put my fresh produce into said bag. EW EW EW.

PS. Don’t say people can’t help sneezing, because unless you are challenged in someway , you ABSOLUTELY can.

It hurts to do that, my eyes hurt, my neck hurts and my ribs hurt. What is wrong with sneezing into a tissue or elbow? No germs are spraying everywhere.

PortiaCastis · 11/01/2019 12:28

Clearly a wind up, nobody is this precious surely

GOTBackThisYear · 11/01/2019 12:28

Held in sneezers creep me out. My SIL holds hers in and does a tiny squeak. She doesn't hold her nose or anything. Like where the fuck does her sneeze go? Is it even a sneeze?

If I was to keep my mouth closed and pinch my nose I honestly think something would pop out somewhere else and do serious damage. The OP clearly has shit sneezes with no power behind them.
I either sneeze into a tissue if I have warning, my elbow if I have something long sleeved on or I'll pull my hoodie up over my mouth and nose and sneeze in there. There's never snot though. If I'm congested/snotty I will always have a tissue.

As for licking fingers to separate bags etc, that's gross, I agree. A new girl in our local deli was let go after I had to complain more than once about her licking her fingers to separate the paper bags and using the same licked fingers to pick up our food. No gloves, not hand washing, just spit covered fingers picking my pastry up 🤢
Another time she took her dirty shoe off and fixed her sock, put the manky old trainer back on then carried on making food without hand washing. The final time was wiping a sweaty forehead with her hand and going back to making sandwiches. The manager tried but she just wouldn't change her ways.

nannybeach · 11/01/2019 12:28

If you force a sneeze to stop you can burst the blood vessels in your eyes, but if you dont ave a tissue, you should at least use your hand, we were in a shop quque the other day, bloke sneezed over us, food, everything revolting, and how germs are spread.

Gazelda · 11/01/2019 12:29

I never knew you we're supposed to sneeze into your elbow! It makes very good sense when I think about it
My only concern would be that passing kids might think I'm trying to 'dab'

sweeneytoddsrazor · 11/01/2019 12:30

Sneezing and coughing over people is disgusting. Sneezing and coughing in public is not disgusting. Regardless of how a cashier opens your bag they will have germs on their fingers. They handle money all day. Probably got traces of cocaine on there as well.

Knittink · 11/01/2019 12:30

YABVU and ridiculously precious. Sneezing is normal. Human beings move around in the world surrounded by all kinds of bacteria and stuff all the time. This recent hysteria about germs is absurd unless you have genuine OCD or something. Of course use a tissue etc, but honestly, what a lot of angst over a sneeze!

recklessruby · 11/01/2019 12:32

There's not really an issue if you cover your nose and use a tissue.
My ds has really bad hayfever and sometimes sneezes 8 times in a row, massive noisy sneezes. If he held them in his head would probably explode!

Looneytune253 · 11/01/2019 12:34

Lol of course ppl should sneeze in public. I wouldn’t be able to ‘internally sneeze’. And NO ONE would actually lick a bag fgs people have so much more unhygienic things on their hands than a little bit of spit.

Magicpaintbrush · 11/01/2019 12:34

I have allergies which make me sneeze violently about 20 times a day. Of course I cover my mouth and nose when I sneeze, I don't go around sneezing all over people, but for the OP to suggest that people can hold them in or stop sneezing voluntarily is utterly ridiculous and actually not true. If I could I would. Ridiculous comment. Hmm

Andjustlikethat · 11/01/2019 12:39

I've just tried to hold one of my whooooshing sneezes in. I had to abort the test because it felt like my brains were going to come out of my eyes and ears. I won't be doing it again because I believe my brain is actually quite important to being alive Grin

Serialweightwatcher · 11/01/2019 12:41

How weird - of course you can't stop yourself sneezing at times ... anything you touch in a supermarket, shop, door handle etc is loaded with millions of germs so a sneeze is the tip of the iceberg - as for licking bags/fingers to open bags .. any time I go shopping or bring shopping in, I always wash my hands but presumably every item has umpteen germs on in any case just from people touching them or coughing nearby Confused

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 11/01/2019 12:44

@Amimissingsomethinghere - is it really SO hard to understand that not everyone is exactly like you, and so not everyone can suppress a sneeze in the way you can? It baffles me when people like you utterly ignore the fact that we aren't all identical and don't all have the same abilities and physical characteristics!

PositivelyPERF · 11/01/2019 12:44

Like where the fuck does her sneeze go? Is there a bad smell afterwards? 😁

That’s nothing OP. I have a friend that visits twice a week and regularly loudly coughs and sneezes, without cover his mouth or does in into his hands. He also wipes his nose on his gloves. He once sneezed over my all clean dishes, that were stacked on the kitchen worktop, as I was cleaning out my cupboards. 😱🤢 I had to rewash them all by hand as my dishwasher was faulty. 😠😢

PositivelyPERF · 11/01/2019 12:45

I’ve no idea what happened to the missing words in my last comment. Confused

LuluJakey1 · 11/01/2019 12:47

I can't internally sneeze and I don't think it's good for you. I always sneeze into a tissue though.

Purplecatshopaholic · 11/01/2019 12:50

'Internal sneezing'?? I have heard it all now! #batshitcrazy #burstbloodvessels

Aeroflotgirl · 11/01/2019 12:55

Yabvvvu about sneezing, sometimes it is involuntary and cannot be controlled, but put your hand over your mouth if you do, and wash them.

MorningsEleven · 11/01/2019 13:00

If you sneeze internally you shit your pants*. I know which I'd prefer to sit next to a bus.

*maybe, I dunno. I just said it because I felt like it.

NotTheFunKind666 · 11/01/2019 13:01

Internal sneezing???

Alternative facts have infected Britain.

I mean, good God, I'm so sorry for having a cold.

Tribblesarelovely · 11/01/2019 13:04

Holding back sneezes can, in rare cases, be extremely dangerous. Just sneeze into a tissue. What’s the problem ?

frogbull · 11/01/2019 13:07

I think if I tried to internally sneeze during hay fever season, I'd probably die. Still, I suppose that would stop the sneezing.

(Just to clarify, carry tons of tissues, have tried all the drugs known to man, still sneeze lots.)

FestiveLemur · 11/01/2019 13:07

When I sneeze it's like a giant "whooopoooo"
For some reason, I found this hilarious Grin. When I sneeze, it's a massive "CHEEE!!!"

But yeah. You definitely can hurt yourself doing internal sneezes. Saw someone with a ruptured oesophagus and someone who somehow made a hole in their trachea. Both from internal sneezes.

Biancadelriosback · 11/01/2019 13:09

I have big sneezes. Honestly it's like a whole production! I have no idea why and I try to hold as much back as possible in public because it's really embarrassing! At home though I just let it all out, much to the amusement of my DS and DH.

Biancadelriosback · 11/01/2019 13:09

Anyone else really tempted to go pluck their eyebrow right now so they can practice and internal sneeze?
