To think you don’t bloody sneeze in public?Probably get flamed for this but I absolutely detest people sneezing openly in public. It spreads germs and it’s NOT THAT HARD to internally sneeze as in like hold yourself back when you sneeze!

What about you hygiene pet peeves?

Another one is LICKING THE SUPERMARKET BAGS....why?! Why would I want you to slurp on your finger and then use your saliva to lubricate my bag and then continue to put my fresh produce into said bag. EW EW EW.

PS. Don’t say people can’t help sneezing, because unless you are challenged in someway , you ABSOLUTELY can.

OP posts:
Boulty · 12/01/2019 22:25

I can't stop a sneeze - I must be challenged in some way

I do sneeze away from people though if that redeems things a bit... lol

YABVU to expect people to 'internally' sneeze

Boulty · 12/01/2019 22:26

PS I have allergies …

OP you really are a bit of an idiot aren't you

Tea16 · 12/01/2019 22:37

Jesus christ. I will never internal sneeze again. I didn't even know it had a name. Learn something new...

MrsPeel · 12/01/2019 22:42

Stifling a sneeze can hurt your eardrums - as long as you sneeze into the crook of your arm it is hurting nobody

BeatriceBee · 12/01/2019 22:47

I find it impossible to completely hold in sneezes, as some spittle always escapes (yuk!), and don't understand how people can do it without causing problems. I do though, lift up my arm and sneeze into the top part of my sleeve. I think this is more hygienic than sneezing into my hand and spreading the germs from there, or sneezing into a tissue and then carrying it around covered in germs, in my hand or a pocket.

DameSquashalot · 12/01/2019 22:53

I usually internally sneeze, but I can't always.

There is something wrong with you woman get to the drs

Port1ajazz · 13/01/2019 09:05

Actually poppet a sneeze a totally involuntary response to many outside influences ! It's purpose is to expel any irritants from the body ! If you care to observe the next time you sneeze ( internal or otherwise ) You will notice you cannot do so without shutting your eyes , this is a bodily reaction to keep what the nose is expelling from entering them . I do agree that lots of folk don't cover their mouths when sneezing and if they do it's mostly with hands that don't get washed afterwards . That I do find yukky !

LoniceraJaponica · 13/01/2019 09:41

Ha ha. For once I'm glad this has been picked up by a tabloid. It shows up how ridiculous the OP is.

ShadyLady53 · 13/01/2019 09:44

Is “internally sneezing” when you pinch your nose as you sneeze? Because I just automatically did that and surprised myself. Also I’m still alive so guessing it couldn’t have been an internal sneeze...

Sparklingbrook · 13/01/2019 09:48

'Baffled the internet' Grin They are not wrong.

Hope to see Dr Chris on This Morning tomorrow telling us how this is nit a good idea and Holly W with her concerned face on.

Sparklingbrook · 13/01/2019 09:48

*not

PregnantSea · 13/01/2019 10:01

Sneezing in public is fine so long as you cover your mouth properly. To expect people not to sneeze at all is stupid.

SoyDora · 13/01/2019 10:32

Haha, my first time being quoted in The Sun!

glamorousgrandmother · 13/01/2019 10:53

I am confused because I have always sneezed internally without pinching my nose just holding it in. I also keep my mouth shut. And, yes, I have always suffered from sinus and inner ear problems but no one ever told me the reason.

So how should I sneeze? Should I open my mouth? This is a genuine question. I am not ocd.

starrybee · 13/01/2019 11:37

Openly sneezing, yes, you should use a tissue or if you don't have one cover your face somehow.

But YABU to expect people to "hold it in" entirely, blimey...

Lweji · 13/01/2019 12:01

OP:
Don’t say people can’t help sneezing, because unless you are challenged in someway , you ABSOLUTELY can.

The Sun:
Don’t say people can’t help sneezing, because unless you are challenged in some way, you ASBOLUTELY can.

Grin

They can't even copy and past PROPERLY. Or is it PORPELY?

keeptheaspidistra · 13/01/2019 12:30

This is a revelation to me. Try as I might to keep a sneeze in, I can't. How are you inward sneezers doing it

LoniceraJaponica · 13/01/2019 12:43

I sneezed several times yesterday. My sneezes must be relatively violent as I can't hold one in, and I know I would cause a lot of damage if I did.

glamorousgrandmother just open your mouth and let it out, using a tissue in front of it.

ToftyAC · 13/01/2019 13:47

I can hold the sneeze, my partner can’t. Last time he tried he tore a muscle. But then he usually sneezes into his elbow or tissue if he has one on him. Otherwise I don’t care what people do so long as they are trying their hardest to keep their germs to themselves.

onegiftedgal · 13/01/2019 14:52

I'd be more concerned that you are still using plastic carrier bags.

macaroniandpizza · 13/01/2019 18:50

If you have to sneeze you have to sneeze. I cant stop a sneeze coming it just happens

Idlikeabunchofbananasplease · 13/01/2019 19:24

Spitting on the street, actual big gobs on the pavements are my pet peev. Hasn't anyone heard this can spread diseases such as TB. Stupid footballers encourage it by doing on the pitch In front of tv cameras ffsk use a tissue and put it in the bin .

Teacher22 · 13/01/2019 20:04

I agree about the sneezing. If you watch the YouTube clip of how the droplets of a sneeze spread you will want to live in a locked room.

So, yes, sneeze into a sleeve or elbow if you can or sneeze internally if you can do it.

Otherwise, cover your face with a scarf when you go into a confined public space, use anti bacterial gel and clean phones and door handles.
