To have gained weight over Christmas?

evilharpy · 30/12/2018 18:54

About 4lbs to be exact. Oh well, no more cheese for me. I think it’s more down to being sedentary than huge amounts of food to be honest.

Has anyone NOT gained over Christmas? How much have you put on?

I haven’t. In fact I fear I have lost a pound or two. But I have a ridiculously high metabolism and find it really really difficult to put weight on.

SneakyGremlins · 30/12/2018 18:57

I've lost weight but I've been ill Xmas Sad

Munchyseeds · 30/12/2018 18:59

My jeans are feeling a bit tight!

EMS23 · 30/12/2018 18:59

6lbs I think. Ah well, I've had a lovely Christmas so don't mind at all!

Gotstuckwiththisname · 30/12/2018 19:00

My jeans are tight too, but what did I expect when scoffing Celebrations and Roses like they were going out of fashion and drinking every day? It'll soon come off when you go back to normal!

DrinkSangriaInThePark · 30/12/2018 19:00

Yes I have, about 3lb. But most people do! I'll lose it next week when I stop eating junk and start walking again.

DroningOn · 30/12/2018 19:01

For me at least, weight gain over Christmas is one of life's enduring inevitabilities!

Idontbelieveinthemoon · 30/12/2018 19:01

I don't tend to weigh myself so I go by my jeans - we're off out for dinner tonight at a fairly nice place and the size 10 trousers I went to wear aren't zipping up without inhaling deep enough to faint, so I've had to accept that I've definitely eaten too many 8-person-trifles and shove on some 12's.

I fluctuate and then once tomorrow night is out of the way head back out running 4 nights a week so I don't worry too much about a few extra lbs.

EmUntitled · 30/12/2018 19:06

I've been (loosely) dieting since September and lost 1.5 stone. I've put some back on over Christmas but it was worth it as I had a really great week and relaxed with family, had a few drinks etc. I'm sure I will lose again when we are back on the meal plan this week!

iVampire · 30/12/2018 19:09

I weighted myself and was surprised that it’s around 4lbs already. I felt a little squishier, but not having trouble fitting in at any clothes, or with magical shrinking waistbands.

I’m starting Half Marathon training in January which, combined with end of the festive treat food, should see me right by end of the month.

But why oh why is it so easy to pile on that much in just a couple of weeks?!?!?!?

Junkmail · 30/12/2018 19:10

Weirdly I have lost 3lbs Confused I genuinely don’t know how this happened. I’m usually really controlled with food but I gave my self three days to eat whatever I wanted and I really took it to the nth degree and ate my body weight in festive treats. And yet—I’m three pounds down? I mean I did quite a lot of walking over those three days but nothing crazy. I’m not really complaining though! Just strange as I was expecting the scale to yell at me Grin

SimplyPut · 30/12/2018 19:13

2.5lbs on and every ounce worthwhile. I love our annual fortnight of eating, drinking and catching up with family and friends.

Could live without the indigestion though Xmas Blush.

Jaffacakebeast · 30/12/2018 19:15

I get weighed New Year’s Day, it’s normally 5/6 lbs gain over Christmas tbh. And holidays. I lost 4lb in first 3 weeks of December tho, damage limitation. I do it every year. Can’t help myself

Kemer2018 · 30/12/2018 19:15

I've put on lots. I feel it in my clothes and belly is bloody huge.
Oh well. Once i resume normal life it should go.

KC225 · 30/12/2018 19:17

junkmail Away with you suspicious 'the weight just falls' declaration. This is not the thread for you unless you admit to weighing yourself stark naked and 3/4 quarters holding into the shower rail.

Good 4 pounder for me. Hello Michael Molesley ...... Wait for me

BentNeckLady · 30/12/2018 19:17

I feel like I have but the scales say not. My diets been horrendous but I’ve got both dc birthday in the next week so as soon as they’re out of the way I’m looking forward to getting stuck in to a healthy January!

HelenaDove · 30/12/2018 19:24

mine has gone around the middle. Good job these luxury yule logs are only available at Christmas time.

Eliza9917 · 30/12/2018 19:41

A few pounds most likely won't be real weight, it will be water retention and 'junk bloat'. Once you go back to eating and drinking normally it will come off.

PenelopeChipShop · 30/12/2018 19:44

I don’t really want to step on the scales but also have tight jeans! I’m weaning myself off the Christmas food slowly. Once the Yule log is gone it will help!

SoyDora · 30/12/2018 19:45

2lbs but I’m 40 weeks pregnant!

EssentialHummus · 30/12/2018 19:47

Good job these luxury yule logs are only available at Christmas time.

Amen to that!

Richlyfruited · 30/12/2018 19:49

Yup I've also put on 4lb and I've been doing my usual 5k runs over Christmas too!!

Just shows how much I've been eating - lost count of all the shortbread I've consumed today Blush

HelenaDove · 30/12/2018 19:56

Same here Penelope We are finishing off the yule log today Its the Tesco Finest one with the gold sprinkly leaves on top.

Oysterbabe · 30/12/2018 20:00

I've put on 5lbs but couldn't care less. I will miss my daily cheese board once January is here though.

Scarymovie73 · 30/12/2018 20:04

A couple of days eating soup is always quite good ☹️
