To have gained weight over Christmas?

About 4lbs to be exact. Oh well, no more cheese for me. I think it’s more down to being sedentary than huge amounts of food to be honest.

Has anyone NOT gained over Christmas? How much have you put on?

4lbs so far. I have done two runs since the 27th in anticipation of NYE!

SpoonBlender · 30/12/2018 20:50

I've come out even, which has taken careful management and skipping entire meals - or rather extended buffet/snacking sessions - when I'm clearly not actually hungry!

I'm still 15kg overweight mind! Pretty pleased anyway.

halfwitpicker · 30/12/2018 20:52

Yeah plus a weekend away feasting in pubs etc hasn't helped. Will assess the damage once I'm home.

bluetongue · 30/12/2018 20:55

I’ve either stayed the same or lost a bit.

Having said that, I’m going on holiday late January and I’m pretty sure I’ll gain weight then. This is just my ‘pre holiday diet’ phase Smile

Pickledturnip · 30/12/2018 21:14

Oh I got fatter ☺

I don't usually over eat at Christmas time but I think I'm currently averaging a bag of crisps per hour....

I'm already planning my new year regime (whilst eating crisps and drinking gin)

evilharpy · 31/12/2018 00:40

I ate a whole tube of prawn cocktail pringles after posting this.

Yep jeans definitely much tighter despite keeping up with my running, but like others have said once I get back to my normal diet I should go back to pre Xmas weight, but to kick start my normal I will have a week of being very strict, it’s been lovely eating what I want for a while so a few pounds is worth it!

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 31/12/2018 00:57

You are right is no obligation Marilyn, but I wanted to!

HelenaDove · 31/12/2018 02:25

Marilyn i used to be very obese and i watch what i eat all the time.

Christmas is the one time of year i eat what i want for a few days.

stopgap · 31/12/2018 02:32

I’ve very lost a couple of pounds, but have been ill.

ragged · 31/12/2018 02:43

Been with family who stress me out, so I keep going out to exercise. Probably lost or no change.

selepele · 31/12/2018 03:37

I haven’t but I was strict and even went gym on Xmas day

selepele · 31/12/2018 03:37

It doesn’t matter anyway make it your New Years to lose the 4 lb by end of jan or feb

Prisonbreak · 31/12/2018 04:34

I’ve lost 5lbs but I’m really unwell. Couldn’t eat if you paid me

HeronLanyon · 31/12/2018 05:02

I have eaten a lot over Christmas but due to recent bereavement and awful lingering bronchitis I have largely stopped snacking and been drinking much less alcohol than normal for the last 6 weeks. I have lost around 6lbs and for this first time ever have seen the effects of oft repeated advice to simply eat thoughtfully, only when hungry and drink less. Who knew that might actually work ? Grin

Polskieexpat · 31/12/2018 05:31

My scales don't bloody work because the batteries are dead and haven't got anymore but I'm 32 weeks pregnant so I'm going with definitely!!! Don't care either Grin

redyawn · 31/12/2018 05:55

2lb down sine Dec 10th. I was surprised. Was just hoping I hadn't put on.

malificent7 · 31/12/2018 05:59

I put on 4lb and im pfoud. There is no obligation go stuff your face but lets face it...Christmas eating is one of life's great pleasures.

I couldn't do the gym on Christmas day...it's too obsessive for me...bet you look great though.

malificent7 · 31/12/2018 05:59

Proud even...

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 31/12/2018 06:06

I'm not sure if I've gained weight over Xmas but I have definitely gained weight since the summer, in which I lost nearly 2 stone, and probs put about a stone back on, after NY is out the way, il be strictly going back on my plan.

Redgreencoverplant · 31/12/2018 07:24

2.5lbs but am back on the healthy eating from today. Hoping to have lost at least 1lb by next week.

Groovee · 31/12/2018 07:37

My dh, mine, my dad and my niece all have birthdays the week before Christmas. I weighed in on the 27th with a 6lb gain 😱🙈

TheRealHousewife · 31/12/2018 07:44

Come on ladies, don’t panic. A good plop or two will see most of it flushed away Grin

caringcarer · 31/12/2018 07:45

I've gained 5 lb and still have much Xmas bounty still here to eat so expect a pound or two mote to go on tbh. But by end of Jan i shall have lost it all. From Dec 14th no time to go to gym but resuming by Jan 8th when kids back at school. I like to enjoy Xmas and scoffing chocs and extra wine part of that. Sorry so many people ill over Xmas. Hope well soon.
