that life's too short?

Or should we only be posting about terribly serious weighty matters like death, famine and pestilence?

OP posts:
southeastastra · 26/06/2007 18:17

yes (or no) what's the question again

UCM · 26/06/2007 18:18

blimey, I never post anything but.

bobsmum · 26/06/2007 18:19

My life's full of frivolous crap, in fact so's my house. It's what I do best

Kathyis6incheshigh · 26/06/2007 18:19

oh life's too short for worrying about what people tell you you should be posting about

I loved your bucket thread, if that's what you're referring to. One of the best things about MN is all the little discussions about the minutiae (sp?) of every day life. IMHO, of course.

ktmoomoo · 26/06/2007 18:19

anyone can post watever they like and should not be got at for doing so too xx

allgonebellyup · 26/06/2007 18:19

oops are you referring to my iraq orphans thread?

bohemianbint · 26/06/2007 18:24

ha, no, nothing to do with orphans! Partly to do with the bucket thraed, but then in general I've noticed on a few random threads about nothing serious people will pop up and say "get a life ffs" or something along those lines, as if things people post are in some way indicative of how a person lives or thinks... What's wrong with chatting about some meaningless crap once in a while as opposed to pouring all your serious stuff all over people all the time?!

Rant over!

OP posts:
QueenofBleach · 26/06/2007 18:26

I love talking about meaningless crap especially over a glass of wine or two.

whomovedmychocolate · 26/06/2007 18:27

What is worse is posting inane replies complaining about inane posts, talk about a dichotomy of inanity!

Quattrocento · 26/06/2007 18:28

Yo Boho

After one whole month on Mumsnet, I have come to the conclusion that we should ONLY post on frivolous and crappy issues.

Every time there is a Heated Debate about serious issues - things kick off.

crokky · 26/06/2007 18:28

If you want to post frivolous crap, it is absolutely fine IMO, as long as it is not in one of the more serious sections.

NoodleStroodle · 26/06/2007 18:29

Oo I love the crappy ones.
More my level

whomovedmychocolate · 26/06/2007 18:30

Perhaps change the chat section to be called crap instead?

Blandmum · 26/06/2007 18:31

I'm dealing with the death and pestilence stuff all day. I need frivolous crap to take my mind off it

bohemianbint · 26/06/2007 18:33

Love it chocolate, think we could set up a pointless petition to get some kind of "random crap" section? Who's with us?

Random crap & Frivolous Crap

Two Seperate topic titles I think

Kathyis6incheshigh · 26/06/2007 18:38

Of course even the frivolous crap can kick off. Was expecting at any moment your bucket thread would turn into a SAHM/WOHM row.

I am a pledged frivolous crap only poster. Did serious and argy bargy, just made me cross and wound up.

I have been in nonsence heaven the last few weeks 'seriously' discussing sponge recipes and cup cake decoration.

Now we're doing an afternoon tea for one.
All welcome.

bohemianbint · 26/06/2007 18:48

Oh, oh, Kathy, look, the SAHM argument has kicked off! How predictable, yet fascinating that people assume so much about fellow MNers based on not a hell of a lot......

OP posts:
bohemianbint · 26/06/2007 18:50

Ah....it's a joke......
