that life's too short?

Or should we only be posting about terribly serious weighty matters like death, famine and pestilence?

OP posts:

Th best thread I have ever seen in mn was about a lady who had a problem with wind while her husband was busy down south if you get my meaning. Now that is much better than what books your children should read or who is the best mother!! imho

Soph73 · 27/06/2007 11:37

Yep, that has got to be one of the best so far, I just couldn´t stop laughing. Here´s to more "frivolous crap" that´s what I say

StarryStarryNight · 27/06/2007 13:25

I agree the Wind thread, and amateurarsedoctors thread about DIY hemorroidectomy (sp) was fabuolous frivolous fun!

Oblomov · 27/06/2007 13:35

The vsc was well funny. Why are we having a go at eachother over a bit of frivolity ? It too narks me when someone says g-a-life ffs. I feel like saying , p**s off and post on another thread then.

ronshar · 27/06/2007 14:34

Is it just me or are there some people who use mn as an easy way to bully people in secret. They will never be told on to teacher so they probably think there is no harm being done.
I have only recently been brave enough to join in with some of the threads and quite frankly if I had to listen to my children behaving in such a manor they would be in their bedrooms without any tea!!
Maybe I just expect to much from other women-like a bit of support for one another.

MarsLady · 27/06/2007 14:40

I love meaningless crap posts/threads.... What makes me laugh is when people get all ranty and namechangy over something incredibly small.

dal21 · 27/06/2007 14:45

Please post away! I am new to MN and find these ones hilarious!

OO count yourself lucky that you didnt post a pic of the merc 4 by 4! you would have been lynched!!

loving the bucket thread! ignore the get a lifers....if they dont like the thread, they shouldnt post!

Soph73 · 27/06/2007 14:47

ronshar - I think you´re right, some of the time it does seem like bullying. I´ve only just joined in some of the threads because of that reason. I don´t know what I´d do if I heard ds giving someone as much grief as some of the people get on here!

funkimummy · 27/06/2007 15:01

I agree - the ganging up is rubbish. It's just like school was! Anyway. I like frivolous crap, random crap. I find the 'crap in the bath' post funny also. So I'm in! Anyone for a DIY Hemmorhoidectomy?

Nightynight · 27/06/2007 15:15

I think the answer is that one person's frivolous crap can be pretty shocking to someone else.

never forgotten the unfortunate mnetter ( though her nickname has passed into the haze) who innocently posted "I was forced to double park..." (outside her child's school), and started a storm!

Aitch · 27/06/2007 15:19

ganging up. pmsl. that old chestnut. please report any bullying by pressing the red exclamation mark on the right, ronshar. other than that if people typing on their computers all over the world just happen to agree with each other you'll just have to suffer it.

Aitch · 27/06/2007 15:36

lol. where's the popcorn thread, dal? i Love them...

dal21 · 27/06/2007 15:38

right next to this one aitch....has passed the popcorn stage though and turned downright ugly.

Aitch · 27/06/2007 15:44

where? ear piercing? neighbour's life? not the 4x4 one, surely... it's not ugly, it's quite good-natured tbh for a 4x4 debate. seriously.

AttilaTheMum · 27/06/2007 15:54

Don't knock the "I was forced to double park" thread - it's the one that got me onto MN.
I was googling Parking at school, because my headteacher wanted to find out what happened at other schools in an attempt to solve our parking problem.
We still haven't solved the parking problem, but if she finds me on MN at work, she only has herself to blame....

dal21 · 27/06/2007 15:57

No Aitch not the 4 by 4 one, that is very light hearted . The ear piercing one. Unfortunately veered into murky territory of racism.
might go search on 'double parking'...am nornally terrible at sitting still and doing nothing, MN is assisting a great deal with the resting. ha ha!

Aitch · 27/06/2007 16:06

erk, have just read it. weird how these things can take a turn, isn't it? surely you will allow me a Wanker to be directed at that poster...?

lucyellensmum · 27/06/2007 16:07

dal21, dont need your pop corn, i've dissapated it with frivilous talk of frills and balarinas

dal21 · 27/06/2007 16:08

LOL Aitch! feel free!

lucyellensmum · 27/06/2007 16:08

Get the popcorn girls, i think aitch just called me a wanker

dal21 · 27/06/2007 16:09

LEM - i have seen, take my hat off to you! tis an acquired skill!

Aitch · 27/06/2007 16:11

lol!

lucyellensmum · 27/06/2007 16:12

is that all you have to say, right (rolls up sleave) outside!!!!

Just kidding
