Basically I just do not see the point of getting clean, soapy water to clean the floor and then squeezing filthy water back into it. So I use two buckets. Is that so weird? DP thinks I'm a bit odd.

To be honest, it's a fairly momentous occasion if I bother so I don't mind being a bit scrupulous.

What an exciting thing to post about, slow day in the bohemian house....

dh has suggested selling the afformentioned jack russell on ebay. Would use the money raised to but 2 new buckets in order to do the mopping properly.

nickytwotimes · 27/06/2007 12:46

ooh, is this still going?
i haven't cleaned my floor today! not even with 1 bucket![hangs head in shame emoticon]

muppetgirl · 27/06/2007 12:52

Does the colour of the bucket matter?

bohemianbint · 27/06/2007 14:04

Here in Boho land the buckets are a kind of psychedelic marbled colour explosion. Of course.

But there's hole in my bucket!

whomovedmychocolate · 27/06/2007 14:44

Dear Ivor, Dear Ivor

whomovedmychocolate · 27/06/2007 14:44

My bucket actually has a gutter at the bottom which collects dirt so it's very ineffective (as well as having the aforementioned hole.)

Highlander · 27/06/2007 16:15

ooh, a woman after my own heart

I use gallons of water (albeit in 1 bucket) to try and dilute out the filth.

It enrages me to see DH mopping the floor with a paltry 1 litre of water And when I challenged him about it he said, 'it really is time you went back to work'. Twat.

muppetgirl · 27/06/2007 19:30

bump

MrsFish · 27/06/2007 21:50

I do it in the sink...

MrsFish · 27/06/2007 21:51

rinsing the mop that is, and I use that dettol stuff you spray directly on the floor and there is no need to rinse

Katy44 · 28/06/2007 08:52

Should i mop my floor?
I tend to wait until I've smashed / spilt something on it, that happens fairly regularly

Katy44 · 28/06/2007 08:52

I used to scrub it on my hands and knees with a cloth

bohemianbint · 28/06/2007 12:32

I've started doing it maybe twice a week these days, as opposed to twice in 3 years before el bebe arrived. Only cos he spends so much time face down trying to lick it.

Upside is I suppose its shedloads cleaner than carpet...
