if i use 2 buckets when I mop the floor?

Basically I just do not see the point of getting clean, soapy water to clean the floor and then squeezing filthy water back into it. So I use two buckets. Is that so weird? DP thinks I'm a bit odd.

To be honest, it's a fairly momentous occasion if I bother so I don't mind being a bit scrupulous.

exactly how big is your floor!?

I use two as well and my kitchen's not big. but I do use eco friendly detergent

sounds a good idea - perhaps your dp could do the floors instead

When I mop my (massive) kitchen floor the water isn't 'filthy'.

i think it is quite a good idea, TBH. good on you for being bothered to do it !

I see why you use 2 buckets but don;t forget that your mop head is still going be grubby even though you've wrung the majority of the scrotty water out.

i think you are being very unreasonable, and should be punished...

apart from that it is a good idea...

You can get a 2 section bucket from kleeneeze or betterware, for precisely that reason...

hahaha.....floor not that big but have laminate in the front room and tiles in the kitchen so basically the whole of the downstairs. And when it's rainy the floor in the front room gets pretty dirty, and what with DS crawling all over it these days I like to try to get it a bit hygienic once in a while. Don't mind a bit of muck for the old immune system but when the cats leave little dead presents around I suddenly become obsessed with getting the floor bleached!

Doesn't sound very Bohemian to me, sounds positively bourgeois.
Surely you should be using a paintbrush, or mopping the floor with a silk scarf or something?

Well, I used to do it purely with butterfly wings whilst composing rhapsodies but unfortunately time's at a bot of a premium these days.

i spray some side cleaner on the floor and mop

then it's not the floor thats dirty - it's your mop!

if:

a) no one has ever died as a result of your floor's "contamination"

b) the floor police haven't caught you and flung you into jail

then:

c) life's too short. ffs

i just spray flash lavender spray (lush) in the floor and mop and every few mops i run the mop under the tap to clean it

You're clearly a SAHM with too much time on your hands

lol - good idea - if I ever get to mop the floor will invest in two buckets...

I just mop the floors TWICE. First once, then I change to new water, and then again! I use Ecover, so ner ner. Of course I vacuum clean first.
