I’m not sure how I would feel about a remake/when it would happen if it ever did though...

How long do you think it would likely be before they did?

I also think this will happen.. my guess is in around 20 years time.

Terribletweens · 15/12/2018 20:57

I can see them doing an animated version quite soon, like less than 5 years.

ILoveDolly · 15/12/2018 20:58

Noooooooooooooooo

Unihorn · 15/12/2018 20:59

God I hope so. I imagine it will be like the upcoming Amazon LotR remake with a massive budget and better time constraints.

Chloe84 · 15/12/2018 20:59

I think in another 10 years.

I'd love to see them all again with a new interpretation. I didn't mind the trio's acting but I don't think they became the roles to the extent that I can't imagine new actors playing the roles.

Florrieboo · 15/12/2018 20:59

I hope not there is enough of the over hyped HP stuff doing the rounds already.

Don't let it happen.

SmilingButClueless · 15/12/2018 21:01

I can see them doing a film of The Cursed Child in 5 - 10 years, once the original actors are the right sort of age to play the older versions of their characters.

Maryann1975 · 15/12/2018 21:02

I’d like them too. I saw a comment recently that it needs to be made in to a television series. There is too much left out of the films, because the books had so much in them to fit into 2 hours of film. A series for each book would give them a lot more time to fit everything in.

mummmy2017 · 15/12/2018 21:03

No... They left star wars alone too.

bookishly · 15/12/2018 21:03

Yeah I agree, they will probably be remade in the next decade or so which will be quite interesting but it will be really strange as DSD, DS and DD all grew up watching them and even though I found it annoying watching the goblet of fire on replay... it was an era I suppose Grin

MrsJayy · 15/12/2018 21:05

The cursed child makes more sense than remaking 8 films fantastical beast is in 5 parts apparently so I can't see a H P remake

bookishly · 15/12/2018 21:05

smiling Ooohh I see that happening too!

OP posts:
RiverTam · 15/12/2018 21:06

I hope they do and they get some decent child actors in. When I see child actors in other things I’m always baffled as to how they managed to cast so many substandard actors.

And yes to TV series, the later films are riddled with plot holes due to compressed a 700 page book into a film.

WhyDontYouComeOnOver · 15/12/2018 21:08

I doubt it very, very much.

hidinginthenightgarden · 15/12/2018 21:08

Not in the next decade no.
The films aren't even that old and they were so expensive to make. Also with there being so many as pp said.

One of the spin offs maybe but not the original films. What a waste of money that would be.

MrsJayy · 15/12/2018 21:10

I thought some of the chikd actors were fantastic Daniel Radcliffe howeverHmm

TheStructure · 15/12/2018 21:11

I suspect a spin off like Cursed child.

DoneLikeAKipper · 15/12/2018 21:11

I hope if they do ever reboot/remake it, they will be far better than the original set of films. So awful, even great actors were cringingly bad in them (not their fault, playing off terrible child actors and weak screenplays). It did have one of the best music soundtracks of any film made though, shame that was the only good things about the films.

HestiaParthenos · 15/12/2018 21:12

I would like a series that's very close to the books.

An animated version of the old-fashioned kind (actually drawn rather than computeranimated) would be perfect, but I don't dare hope for that.

Actors never look exactly like the characters, and especially with Harry Potter having so detailed descriptions, it does distract me.

MrsJayy · 15/12/2018 21:12

Dd said Fantastical beasts is awful so confusing and also a merchandise advert wish tjey had left well alone.

Huntawaymama · 15/12/2018 21:14

I love harry potter, or did until recently. Watched them all in the cinema and loved them, have watched them countless times since and loved them but for some reason when I started watching my box set the last time I came to the realisation that I must be getting old as I've really gone off them up until the order of the phoenix. Made me sad as I didn't love them but now I notice bits or bad acting and have other annoyances. Love Alan Rickman though

Sitranced · 15/12/2018 21:15

No they wouldn't they'd have to change the studios and the theme parks to match the new branding if they did. They'll just add more like they did with Star Wars.

WelcomeToGreenvale · 15/12/2018 21:16

Hope so, the movies were mostly dire. Maybe a Game of Thrones style series in 10 years or so would be good. That depends on whether JK Rowling continues to invent and insert things into a long-ended book series though.

TheRealJoseph · 15/12/2018 21:17

If they did, then I hope that JKR asks for a min. of 50% of the pre-tax profits.

I really hate remakes Angry

HestiaParthenos · 15/12/2018 21:17

Dd said Fantastical beasts is awful so confusing and also a merchandise advert wish tjey had left well alone.

I wish they had really made a film about the fantastic beasts, and not about Grindelwald.

Would absolutely watch something that's actually based on the "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them" book.
