Is it to late to complain

Decide to have my make up and hair done for my works Christmas party as I’m crap at any of it. Had a look on Instagram at recommendations for make up artists and two canceled so messaged this salon with the look I wanted to see if they could do it. Arrived at 4.15 to the salon didn’t leave till 5.45. I asked for this look with shimmer eyelid and eyeliner see pic below she insisted that we might not need eyeliner as eye shadow would bee over powering with eyeliner too aka she can’t do eyeliner. She then got to work with all her tools that looked like her own and where full of make up. Throughout the make over she wouldn’t let me look in the mirror and kept saying it will look good in the end. She decided to a halo eye pic bellow with gold glitter pic I sent her clearly is a pinky gold shimmer not gold glitter. She puts glue on my eyelid and sticks this glitter to it in the middle of my eyelid and couldn’t blend it out so I had brown part eye solid gold and then brown again with no blend at all. I insisted that I would do my own eyebrows and lipstick ext as I just wanted to leave ended up doing my make up in the lift on the way there as when I got home the hair lady had turned up. Need to complain but I’m to scared I hate complaining this happened last night I’m terrible with words to so dyslexic what do I say cost me 15 for a horrible look

She spent 1.5 hours on just my eyes and some foundation that took 3 mins

It sounds as though she rents a chair in the salon and is self employed?

Birdsgottafly · 08/12/2018 21:12

Your picture hasn't come through.

MrsT4 · 08/12/2018 21:23

There's no pic but I would say that £15 is very very cheap for a professional MUA. I normally pay between 35-45 depending on whether it is a senior artist or not, that includes lashes.

You do tend to get what you pay for tbh.

I'd say yes it was too late too complain though I'm afraid.

Paddington23 · 08/12/2018 22:08

Was due to pay 35 but due to only having eyes done she charged me less

Pic of what it looked like she basically dabbed glue on then glitter it set and she couldn’t blend it out at all so the edges where all wonky

You paid £15. Honestly I think you are overthinking

Paddington23 · 08/12/2018 22:37

I was due to pay 35 but as I made my excuses before she could do my face and eye brows so she only charged 35

Ameliablue · 08/12/2018 22:38

It sounds like you agreed to the reduced price for what you got at the time so no point complaining again later.

user1494670108 · 08/12/2018 22:42

£15 is very cheap and as you have blanked out the section your not happy with we can't see what you are complaining about!

katekat383 · 08/12/2018 22:44

Sorry. But that is a weird waxy look.

Starryskiesinthesky · 08/12/2018 22:47

I’m with you - it looks crap and nothing like what you asked for. £15 wasnt good even for that! Sorry!

Paddington23 · 08/12/2018 22:51

That isn’t my make up I just have drawn over to make it look like the gold on my eyes

OP posts:
AGHHHH · 08/12/2018 22:53

Are there any actual photos of what yours is?

SylviaAndSydney · 08/12/2018 22:59

Disappointed there aren’t any photos of what yours looked like. I’d say it’s too late to complain though.

franklyshankly2 · 08/12/2018 22:59

You have just drawn over it? What...

RCohle · 08/12/2018 23:04

£15 is very cheap and as we don't know what yours looked like it's pretty hard for us to offer an informed opinion as to whether it was bad enough to complain.

To be honest you really needed to have complained before you left. This would a) have given her a chance to try and fix it and b) would have allowed the salon owner to judge if it was genuinely bad. Unless you have clear photos of how she did your make up you don't really have evidence to back up your complaint to her/the salon.

TheOxymoron · 08/12/2018 23:06

It’s too late. You left without challenging her.
Had the night out and want the money back the next day. So many salons get ripped off with this around Christmas time.

Would you go to a cafe and eat something then return the next day saying it didn’t taste good?

TheOxymoron · 08/12/2018 23:07

Buy cheap, pay twice.

WTBE · 08/12/2018 23:11

Sadly too late to complain a day later, can be difficult to speak up at the time but is always best to say it at that moment.
