If I am reading the Govt filing correctly, it says Cohen committed campaign finance violations at the “direction” of President Trump.

That means they are saying Trump committed a felony.

And the memo goes on to explain how serious the felony is to the integrity of our system

I think my reading here is correct. If so, it is the first time federal prosecutors have said they believe Donald Trump committed a felony.

It is therefore huge news if this reading is right.

1-Manafort lied, but they're keeping the documents sealed so we still don't know what he lied about exactly, but it must point some fingers somewhere.

2-Cohen lied like a big dog, but he cooperated and they're STILL pushing for significant time in prison so he must have told some real whoppers. Cohen points finger directly at Scrotus saying he told him to lie.

3- Scrotus tweets that 1 & 2 'totally clear him'. (Ohhh-kaaayyy then, alrighty, sure dude. Can I have some of what you've been smoking?)

4- Comey says his testimony today was nothing but Hillary emails redux.

I dunno how to do twitter links to whole threads, but I can recommend looking at @ kurteichenwald for a detailed breakdown of the payment felonies associated with Cohen's testimony. Which payments have biggest implications and why. The Trump Exec Guy who got full immunity from prosecution features heavily in the comment section on twitter.

I'm sure you knew this, but the figures just beggar belief. I cannot get my head round the fact that this slimy, self-serving shyster is still in office.
