to wonder how people afford to decorate their houses?

Me and DH both in late 20s, both on 30k a year, own our own house, we have one child together and DH has a daughter from previous relationship... we hang NO money to decorate our house with. We've lived here a year and it's completely empty!!

Anyone else in same boat?

It's quite common though. You see it a lot on here. How can people afford to go on holiday, how can people afford nice cars, how can people afford whatever stuff,,like they think everyone earns the same and has the same out goings,and they can't get their heads round how these oth r people have these things and they don't.

Often the answers are oh it's credit, or it's their parents or some shit, but this time then op posted their income which changed the responses and then had to explain they had two kids, she was on stat mat pay, they had debt and a bit mortgage. So yes, you'd think the op would know why she couldn't afford it but as said, it's very common, people ask a variation of this all the time, as if the think everyone is in the same financial situation.

It is odd but there it is

At 25 I had a cardboard box to stand my portable tV on. Had a second hand sofa and went to the launderette. I saved for things and bought as and when I had saved up. I still have some of the same furniture I had back then.
