Hellolittlesunshinexxx · 30/11/2018 20:57

Marking!!!

munanagi · 30/11/2018 20:58

i was on most haunted once!!!! i lied and pretended stuff was happening when it wasn't but they made it look so scary for the tv. that story is me place marking😂

Chuffingchuff · 30/11/2018 21:00

I saw a man walking up my stairs once! Could only see the bottom of his legs and feet because it was where the ceiling joined the stairs, but when I went up and investigated there was no one there. The front room in that house always felt a bit "off", and the dog would always hide behind the sofa. I don't live there anymore but I'm convinced it was a ghost.

Florries · 30/11/2018 21:03

I don't believe in ghosts but I believe the people who believe they saw what they saw... If that makes any sense?

dogsaster · 30/11/2018 21:07

More of a place mark as not very exciting. When I finished school many a few years ago I worked in a hospital and two incidents stick out for me.
Once I was sent to the tiny four bed bay right at the end of the ward and had a doomy feeling that I just didn't want to, but I was young and did as I was told, I took a patients observations as instructed and as I turned I came face to face with a woman who looked three dimensional and 100% real but I knew she couldn't possibly be there and terrified me, patients were all asleep and I ran back to the nurses station never to mention my experience again... a few months later and the nurses were discussing haunted 'E bay' and their experiences exactly matched my own with the woman I saw with long dark hair. I still kept quiet because I was scared

dontalltalkatonce · 30/11/2018 21:12

I'm watching 'Mysteries of the Castle' right now and they've just featured a haunted castle in France.

dogsaster · 30/11/2018 21:12

second experience I think it was my imagination - I was in the same hospital assisting with the care of a man who was expected to improve after surgery, he was still very poorly though and was being nursed in bed. As I helped to turn him and placed my hands on him I felt and immense sense of calm and 'felt' a sort of golden light, I 'knew' at that moment he was going to die and that he was going somewhere better. I have no idea but it turned me from atheist to firmly agnostic. I hope we all go where I believe he went.

cc4490 · 30/11/2018 21:31

We used to live in a flat that was built in 1890. I'm convinced we used to have an old man ghost. It was probably my imagination running wild but I was convinced he pottered round the flat with me when I was cooking or cleaning. It was never scary, quite comforting really. Sometimes the lights would flicker which was odd because we had the place rewired when we moved in so it wasn't old electrics.
I sound nuts!

I’m so sorry but I’m pissing myself at “from atheist to firmly agnostic”. That’s a really lovely story though @dogsaster

HeffalumpsDaughter · 30/11/2018 21:40

As a teenager I had some friends over and we were messing about in my cellar doing a ouija board (we didn’t really know what we were supposed to do so had just drawn some letters on a piece of paper and put our fingers on a thimble). We were asking the usual ouija board questions - ‘is anyone there?’, ‘how big is your willy?’ and (unsuprisingly) nothing happened. We got bored and started restring about doing something else, then went to tidy everything up before going upstairs. My mate put her fingers on the thimble and said ‘we’re putting you away now Mr Ghost, if you want to hang around let us know’ and there was an almighty crash from upstairs.

We absolutely crapped ourselves and refused to go upstairs for ages. After we eventually got our shit together enough to go upstairs and the sitting room was a mess. An old painting of my house had fallen from the wall and shattered. A coffee table in the middle of the room had collapsed and the legs were snapped off the table as if someone had jumped on top of it.

I got in so much trouble and my dm still refuses to believe it wasn’t me. I still don’t understand how it happened. I can just about convince myself that maybe a bunch of teenagers messing around in the cellar had bumped the walls to make the painting fall down but no idea about the coffee table Confused.

Craftycorvid · 30/11/2018 21:43

Great story, Heffalumps I approach ouija boards with great caution anyway, but will be even more careful now!

HeffalumpsDaughter · 30/11/2018 21:45

I also used to work as a waitress at a medieval manor that was also a hotel. They hosted ghost nights and the owner used to get us to go outside and throw gravel at the window when they did a seance. It got quite a reputation, ended up in Most Haunted a couple of years after I left. I watched it and was disappointed at the lack of gravelling that occurred.

pomers · 30/11/2018 21:48

This is not very exciting, but a few days ago I saw a ghost cat. It was white but transparent. It ran across my driveway then just disappeared.

FallenAngel89 · 30/11/2018 21:49

My DD woke up early a few weeks ago and was sat at her desk when she caught a glimpse of an outstretched arm, as though someone was trying to pass something to her and she jumped from her chair! We've had guitars playing themselves in the night and things coming off shelves. There's so much that goes off in my house it's all a bit woo. I once saw a psychic who said there's a male ghost who is usually on the landing, I have heard footsteps follow me down the stairs more than once, so it does make sense Grin

Foamybanana93 · 30/11/2018 21:50

Ooooo place marking Grin

vampirethriller · 30/11/2018 21:52

I used to work in a rehab centre where service users slept on site Monday-Friday. It was in a very big Victorian house built by a businessman for his wife who had died young, he then shot himself in the attic, which was now one of our bedrooms. We didn't tell anyone the story but nobody ever wanted to stay in that room more than one night and said it was haunted.
The manager was a very cynical man and got fed up. He arranged to stay in that room overnight to prove there was nothing there, on a Friday when the house was empty.
Monday morning came and he announced that of course there was absolutely nothing in the room but because everyone was being so silly it would be best if we didn't use it any more.
He came to me later and said that no money in the world would get him to even go up the attic stairs to the door again. He wouldn't say why, but he had the whole attic floor shut off to staff and clients permanently.

Tunnocks34 · 30/11/2018 21:56

This is actually happening to me currently and I’m actually a bit scared 😂🙈.

I’m sat downstairs l, OH out and kids in bed. I could hear banging, like foot steps but more clumsy, and loud, almost like on wood but we have a carpeted upstairs. Came for a look but there is nothing there. Kids asleep. Stayed around a bit and there was no noise.

I come downstairs, and heard a massive crash and the mirror has fallen off the wall, smashed everywhere. It was really securely when it went up two weeks ago.

Rang OH and I have started hearing the crashing footsteps again. To top it off the dog is whimpering at my feet and won’t go upstairs (her bed is in the upstairs hallway).

OH is currently on his way home. Not sure I’ll be reading this thread until he’s home though!’

HeffalumpsDaughter · 30/11/2018 21:59

Oh God tunnocks! Please don’t get ghosted. It must know you were about to read this thread and decided to fuck you up.

PsychedelicSheep · 30/11/2018 23:52

Loving the Most Haunted confessionals 😂

Marcipex · 01/12/2018 00:00

Tunnocks34, okay now?

ginandbearit · 01/12/2018 01:26

I was at boarding school (all male ..me a bloke) and we had a season of ouija board activity that five or six guys became obsessed by . This was back in the early seventies and there were lots of references to end time wars in the middle east and future traumas to the boys ..they became quite unstable for a while and weird behaviour spread like wildfire for a few weeks until staff cracked down on it ...very strange atmosphere in the school for a while .
Unrelated to that ..one dormitory I was in had the beds in a horse shoe shape following a curved wall. The furthest bed from me had a boy who talked in his sleep.and he would never lie if asked questions in that state ..you can imagine the stuff we asked ..anyway one night way after lights out most boys were asleep , i was dozing when this boy sat bolt upright and clawed at his face and said " urgh get off me get off me !"...another boy a couple of beds away also cried out and waved his hands over his face , and then a few seconds later I felt what I can only describe as a presence or sensation not unlike a silk scarf drag across my face .I sat upright too and another boy further round the room also cried out . We soon had the lights on and it took a long time to settle but we were all convinced we experienced something deeply unpleasant 'visiting' us and I remember it very clearly still over forty years later .

LuckyDiamond · 01/12/2018 01:28

If you go to my top floor (4 storey house), someone always follows you back down the stairs. Everyone who comes here notices it. You can hear them but not see them. Very old and unwelcoming house.

Oratorio · 01/12/2018 02:27

Couple of things immediately spring to mind.

  1. In my old flat, I used to hear heavy breathing in my bedroom... sounds funny, but genuinely was like slow, shuddering breaths, as if the person was struggling. Oddly, I never found it scary. One day my sister was staying with me, i popped out to the shop, when I got home she did a double take and said, “wait, weren’t you in your bedroom, I could hear you!”. “Oh no, that’s just the breathing,” I said. Cue “THE BREATHING??!” hysteria and a sister moving out 😂 things also went missing in that flat all the time and never showed up, even when I moved out.
  1. In my friend’s new car, I was 18, when I first saw the car I had a weird bad feeling about it, but shook it off. I was in the back, those days I often never fastened my seatbelt. Not long after I heard a voice say, “There’s going to be an accident.” Male voice, not in my head as such - I heard it as if it was coming from just behind my shoulder. I panicked. Couldn’t tell my friends as they’d think I’d lost the plot, imagine it... can I go home please as I just heard a weird voice... but I did fasten my seatbelt. On the way home, rear tyre blew out at 50mph on a bend on a country lane, car flipped, rolled through a hedge and down a hill and came to rest 10m from a river. All the while, I was weirdly calm, thinking, oh here it is, here’s the accident. We were all fine, just shaken.
