@polarbearflavour Check out the Haunted Barracks thread on ARRSE - you can Google it. Loads of big tough soldiers saying how they hated the SS barracks at Dachau and the railway interchange at night, as well as plenty of other stories - probably find something about your current building there! 😀 I found the thread when I was going to visit Cultybraggan as I'd heard plenty of stories from army oppos over the years.

Anyone familiar with Furness Abbey? I heard men singing there when I was a little girl. I was with my mother at the time and she said it was a tape, she certainly shot out of there though. I've never forgotten it and the memory is still distinct now. We never went back and in hindsight she looked terrified.

@TooManyPaws - I did indeed find a story on the ARRSE thread about my current workplace! Shock

Another one, my parents bought me a second hand bed when I was a teenager. I couldn't get to sleep because of the sound of someone breathing next to me. They said they didn't believe me but it was gone the following night! I was relieved, it was clearly an old mattress and God only knows how the sounds occurred but they did!

A while ago, a lady at work who I worked with who I spoke to most days was walking in front of me down the stairs- I had a weird feeling and almost took extra notice of her hair, the way she walked and even the clip in her hair, even when I said bye it felt final. She died a day later on an accident at home.

At work again, a customer who I serve regularly was talking to me and again I felt like I was looking deeper at her face and really looking at her skin and hair and what she was wearing and said bye..... a lady had a bad fall near the shop about an hour later. The description tells me it's her. I have no idea if it is but I kind of know in my gut it's her and it's not good news. It feels horrible.

Whenever I was about 7 or 8 I was obsessed with Elton John (saw him at princess Diana's funeral and loved that song) so my mum bought me a toy keyboard for my birthday, I absolutely loved it it had a wee microphone and all! Over time the batteries eventually ran out and it was relegated to the top of my wardrobe (batteries weren't replaced cause I'm sure I did their heads in lol) one night I was woken up from my sleep to the noise of someone holding there hands down on the keyboard for about 5 mins straight.

I'm now 28 and was doing a bit of research into my childhood home last year and was looking through records and found out that a musician lived there in the early 1900s, it freaked me out all over again!!

@squashedgrape are you a reaper? Haha

squashedgrape · 20/01/2019 18:20

@DwangelaForever Confused

Moved into a house recently.
I feel like some nights someone is shouting at me as I’m dropping off to sleep just beside my bed

Its called Exploding head Syndrome google it

squashedgrape · 20/01/2019 21:16

Exploding head syndrome sounds awful!

yolofish · 20/01/2019 22:21

Seeing 'gone' pets - yes definitely. Also seen poltergeist activity while at boarding school, and I know it is unbelievable/poss down to teenage hysteria/etc but I then saw/heard/smelt it years later in another place. I dont know if it is misplaced energy or what, but things do move with no explanation. That makes me sound loopy! But oth our house is around 450 years old and no feeling other than safety, and my mum passed away Nov 1 2018 and going round to her house before we sell it just makes me feel safe and calm.

@Betsy I have had a dream like that when I was a teen and we had to have our dog put down. I was really distraught as I hadn’t said goodbye to him when he went to the vets as I thought he would be coming home and I felt really guilty. I had a dream a few nights later where he came into the house all excited to see me and I gave him a a cuddle and a big fuss and just started to disappear. I felt much better after the dream as I felt like I’d said a proper goodbye.
